Nice video! I've been to Dry Tortugas twice via the boat. Taking the sea plane in October. I am soooooooo excited. I would be so heart broken if they cancelled the trip due to the weather 😭 Also the boat you are only there like 4.5 hours and it wasn't enough. I had to book the full day trip on the plane for more time. 2.5 hours is no where enough for the half day sea plane trip. Also just a snorkeling tip, the dock ruins are the BEST snorkeling. Its really amazing. Tons of fish, Tarpon, Barracuda, etc.

Totally agree a full day trip is what you need. We were so rushed to see everything and enjoy the island. Have fun on the flight! I think the seaplane is just as much of an adventure as the island itself. We would love to go back and camp overnight.

We camped two nights at Dry Tortugas last month and it was one of the most incredible experiences. Glad you guys got to visit the island this time around!

We would love to spend more time on the island. If we can afford it, we will be back one day for sure! The camping looked like a blast.

Steve, I'm curious, were there lots of bugs on the island, or by being a small island like that is it pretty bug-free? Camping there would be so surreal! ⛺️ 😊

I heard there a lot of rats on the island

My wife and I have watched almost all of your videos. We found this video to be most interesting. Always wondered about the structure on the Dry Tortugas. Your tour was top notch (as usual) and the suggestion of the movie led us to watch "The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd". Very interesting story. Thanks so much for your videos. Remain awesome and all the best, Steve & Jan

Thank you so much for watching and your kind words. This park was in our top three when this whole journey began and it was a thrill to actually make it after the delays. Thanks again for the support! We will continue to travel and create for as long as we can.

That seaplane ride is soo cool! That's so fun you guys were able to be in the cockpit! I'd never heard of Fort Jefferson before, but I guess I'll have to add it to my list! Looks like you guys had so much fun! 😊

Loved this video! It definitely made us want to save to try this! Quick question were there restrooms at the airport before getting onto the plane? Thank you!

This was so much fun! Can't be beat. There are bathrooms there before takeoff. Get there early to grab a free parking spot too! Thanks for watching.

How much did the plane ride cost (name?) and was it like the ferry that included Free bag lunch?Is the snorkeling shallow enough for poor swimmers? Any idea what rental would have been?
@3rin8173 жыл бұрын
What was the reason for choosing the seaplane over the ferry? I imagine it was probably easier to schedule, but like you said, more expensive & you can't camp.
@SOSASATSUNRISE3 жыл бұрын
A few reasons. The seaplane gets you to the island before the ferry so the island is less people. The ferry is still expensive. $180 I believe and takes a lot longer with much less to see on the ride. The seaplane shows you shipwrecks and you will definitely see some animals. The final reason is simply because the seaplane was so much cooler to film and experience. It's not every day you get a chance to take a ride on a seaplane.

Next time you guys snorkel, put your fins on in the water or walk backwards into the water. You'll have a much easier time. Great video!

Hahha! Noted! We decided to hitch a ride on the struggle bus for our first trip into the water.

So much jealousy on this one. We’ve talked about this park for years and want to go so bad! We would be geeking out too running around just trying to consume everything as fast as we could. So cool 🤙

It was an incredible day. Not the cheapest excursion but well worth it if you plan ahead of time.

Just a side note. The wet foot dry foot law doesn't exist no more. Obama ended it back in 2015, now Cubans who enter by water are illegal too 😔
