This is the best build on KZbin I’ve seen to be honest! I’m currently doing a superbike build series on my channel and I thought I was adding some trick parts to make my bike special but yours is on a totally different level. Love the channel can’t wait to see this done 👍

@@taylorwlaird I’m thinking how on earth are you going to top this in the future? Maybe I’m just old but I love these bikes imho these were the glory days of wsbk with foggy bayliss corsa haga edwards slight etc that was my favourite era proper homologation specials rc30’s and 45’s, ow01’s, zx7rr’s and the best of all imho the Yamaha r7 ow02 👌 Thank you for checking my channel out brother I hope you like it! @@weaselswheels5258 I have a few ideas for a build in the future, but we’ll see. And agreed; not only are these things the most gorgeous sportbike ever, but they are truly formidable race bikes that cruuuushed at the hands of some truly talented racers. Hence, this “tribute” bike 🤷♂️

@@taylorwlaird couldn’t agree more buddy! I hope you like my build and the parts I am fitting. I’m annoyed with myself after seeing yours as my plan was to go full carbon fairing on mine also but I didn’t! I wish I had now I do have some carbon bits for it but should of gone full fairing!

Great job. Can you share some photos on the installation for the seat you made. I am still figuring out the best way for main 750ssie
@taylorwlaird Жыл бұрын
The seat is attached by a very specific 916-era RS mount made from carbon fiber. You could pretty easily fab up something for your bike, as you'd just need some tabs with holes to mount the DZUS fasteners!

More amazing stuff, the suspense is killing me! One thing, I worry about the choice of hose clamps in the fuel system. Does Ducati usually run regular screw-type clamps on the high pressure side of the pump, like at the injectors?
@taylorwlaird Жыл бұрын
The clamps I’m using are high-pressure ones from Radium Engineering… Only because I am not a fan of oettingers.

So in terms of handling, with more power and a longer rear swing arm, what are your expectations compared to a 998 or even a 1098? Will you or someone else take it on track?
@taylorwlaird Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what to expect, really, but I’m excited to find out! And I’ll be developing it and riding it at first, but I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not fast enough to truly exploit this beast. But… SoSo has some cool stuff planned in that department.

OK dumb question time. When you already had a 1098 what was the advantage of the 748 frame swap?
@sosocycles Жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question at all! It’s because we wanted the bike to be as close as we could reasonably get to a late 90s World Superbike Ducati, but without having to spend tens of thousands building a less reliable and less powerful motor.
