just got my ticket to Peurto Plata yesterday. I am an old Asia hand who is now stuck back here in Canada but figuring that Sosua is the closest thing there is to Thailand here in the western hemisphere. I like your "brotherhood" angle. that is what i remember, hope to find it again there in Sosua (although a mango feast is the big draw)
