What is Sotalol 80 mg (Betapace, Betapace AF)?
Sotalol belongs to a category of drugs, called Beta blockers. It blocks beta receptors, primarily affecting cardiovascular system (decreases heart rate, contractility and blood pressure) and also affects lungs and promotes bronchospasm.
Sotalol is available as 40, 80, 120, 160, and 240 mg tablets. Also available as 80, 120, and 160 mg AF tablets, for Atrial Fibrillation.
Betapace is used in management or prevention of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. While Betapace AF is used in the maintenance of normal sinus rhythm, in patients with highly symptomatic atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter (AFIB/AFL).

Not terrified. Just disappointed. I've had it upped 3 times (I'm on 320 mg now) but I still have episodes just as often as I did before. I got a cardio conversation last week. Went to ER with 178 BPM. I have to go for an ablation next. Now THAT terrifies me
