Hey everyone! So for this video, I'll be grooming quarter horse Duchess. She has a thick winter coat and now that winter is ending soon, she is shedding out a lot. Horses shed due to daylight increasing, and not from a change in temperature. For Duchess & the Morgan horses, shedding begins in December, but you don't really notice much hair coming off until right around now...March. Vigorous grooming & brushing helps to stimulate the hair for shedding to encourage new, healthy growth! Enjoy the video!😊

Yes, it was a lot of hair coming off her. You're right, that thick coat would be awful during hot summer.

This just looks like dry skin. Similar to dandruff in humans.
