Hi. I have a question. What does the Soto part stands for? I have seen other videos and read it in some pages but I’m still not sure if Soto refers to a certain part of the heel or if it refers to a “falling” kick.

Hi, soto is refering the movement of the technique. In this case it’s from the outside and in. If you watch uchi mawashi this is done the opposite way and means inside out. This is also same for the block soto uke and uchi uke. All the best.
