I was 7 when this came out and it was one of the first games, along with Final Fantasy IV, that really showed me how serious and artistic video games could be. It was one of the first that I was able to get through by myself as well and I still love it 25 years later! The music is so good.

I played this game all night to stay up for a brain scan at the Mayo clinic in Rochester Minnesota. I will never forget it! Listening to this soundtrack is so nastalgic. It was such a difficult time in my life when I was young, and this game was such a perfect parallel to my life. I took my life about six months later at 17 years old. I went into another dimesion within myself as my brain dies, experiencing a replicate universe within the brain, in time dialation. It is actually still the year 1994, but light still plays out it's quantum course. Soon my brain will cease being able to simulate this existence. I will then be reconnected with the original universe I came from. If somehow someone saves me as I lay there dead, then when I come back I will know of the entire future up till now.

This game embodies how I think a video game should play. You start with a very simple gameplay style that is easy to grasp, then you unlock more as you play. This game took it to such an extreme that it made unlocking each new aspect of the game exciting. Even if it was some random character, I was all over them trying to figure out the puzzle behind them.

Okay, so when I used to play SoulBlazer back in the day, sometimes when I turned the game on and the gigantic logo was scrolling across the screen, the music sounded like it was skipping. The opening percussion tripped over itself. It didn't happen every time, just sometimes. There was nothing wrong with the cartridge, and that was the only glitch I ever experienced. Anybody know what might have caused this?
@hidejico5884 жыл бұрын
Mine does it too, lol. Maybe the code is *just barely* fast enough to run on the SNES or something. Maybe when it heats up a little, the SNES loses a CPU cycle or two and we get some skipping? I dunno. I wondered about it, too. X'D
