I've never expected Lingyu, a side character, to give me so much feels. Seeing how Xianghua and Lingyu worked together up to the end... only realizing that one must prevail. Lingyu's dream was probably much the same as Xianghua's, becoming the emperor's guard to fight justice. In the end, Lingyu lost, halting any chances to achieve her dream. Deep inside, she must've felt crushed. Despite this, she gracefully accepts her loss. She humbly acknowledges Xianghua's victory, and consoled her. Xianghua truly values her friendship with Lingyu, wishing to become a victor not at her expense. She broke down after the fight, still realizing that such an outcome would be unlikely. Lingyu reciprocated this by giving her moral support instead of being spiteful over the result. I hope we get to see more of Lingyu in the future.
