Honestly, my only problem with Patroklos is that he had virtually no character development. The was only a slight change in his character. He was still only thinking of his own interests at the end and that is what made him a bad character.

The major point is him changing from a self serving asshole to someone who puts others above himself in realization of what is best for everything around him and accepting his mistakes to make a better future Pyrrha similarly goes through this but for most of the game she's under a delusion provided by Tira, eventually realising that she's more than she thinks she is and was and becomes a confident individual afterwards The premise of such might sound cliche but cliches don't make a story bad, it's just how you handle the cliche that makes it good or bad

Notice that Pyrrha's hand stays demonic even after she comes out from under Soul Edge's influence. That must be a real conversation starter when she's on dates. "So, Pyrrha, if you don't mind me asking, what's the deal with your hand? Birth defect?" "Oh, no, you know that humungous war a while back, with all the demons and Malfested and all that? Well I got possessed by a demon sword, I forget it's name, and my eyes and voice went weird for a bit and I killed a few people, almost including my brother, but then he got a sword that was made to beat my demon sword and he beat me up and we broke both of the swords. Most things are back to normal, but the hand won't come off. But enough about me, let's talk about you!"

Yeah. And you never really know what happened to her after Soul Edge is destroyed. Or any of the other malfested for that matter. I mean, you'd think that she would have been there to try and stop Pyrrha and Patrokolos from destroying Soul Edge, but no. I guess Tira's like "My duties done. Don't really care what happens after Pyrrha opens hell on Earth". That was really weird for the Soul Team to do. I imagine they didn't want Tira to be defeated due to her fans though. So she just went missing.

Prince Asim Had they had the time they wanted to expand the storyline, I'm almost positive she would have defended Soul Edge with her life. As a matter of fact, I could realistically see her showing up after Elysium was defeated to protect it. After all, One of the things that made her my favorite SC character was the fact that while she's openly sadistic and borderline insane, there's still a remnant of her original self left that just wants to be loved and wanted. Therefore, since Soul Edge is all she had left, she would desperately want to protect it. A shame the team got rushed...

It makes me simply wish they would have postponed it so we could have actually enjoyed it more. I beat story mode in one day. I hated that Tales of Souls went away (And Arcade Endings), and the usage of paper instead of cut scenes was lame. And no characters were actually explored (Except Patrok. and Pyrrha. And I hate Patrok.). So we know nothing about the knew characters except Xiba likes food, Lexia is Xianghua's daughter, Viola is a gypsy or something (And it's been confirmed she isn't Amy. Dammit), Z.W.E.I is... maybe dead, and Natsu is... We don't know.

I can name a bunch too. 1) Both are the shortest characters in the game. 2) Both have red eyes. 3) Viola has as special sequence with Raphael. 4) Viola and Amy are voiced by the same people. 5) Her hair curls are similar. 6) Both have similar cynical statements. Such as "Flee before you destroy yourself". 7) Both face amnesia.

I had mixed opinions on this game as a whole however there are a few things I liked. 1: Tira was beautiful in this game and I’m so glad they gave her a lead role. 2: Pyrrha was actually a really interesting character and I actually found myself feeling bad for her, it’s a shame Patroklos wasn’t. 3: This game had arguably my favourite version of Nightmare (Second only to maybe Soul Calibur 2). 4: Viola, Z.W.E.I and Dampierre all were quite interesting as well.

I feel like I'm the one person who doesn't hate that the game revolves around the new generation. I like the idea of bringing Pyrrha and Patrokolos back to replace their parents, as well as Xiba and Leixia. I would've in fact loved to see Bangoo replace Rock, while keeping the veterans they did keep but at least aging them (which they only did with some). My big issue though is that all of them fell flat, I remember nothing about Leixia, I was annoyed by Xiba, I felt Pyrrha was bland and I hated Patrokolos. The new characters also sucked. The issue isn't that they replaced characters (in fact I don't mind Natsu) the issue is that the story was shit, the characters were shit, most of the new cast barring Natsu and Viola sucked. And even then most of them sucked because they barely got any development or storytime (which includes Viola and Natsu). The game revolved around a shitty character like Patrokolos and his Moe sister. Not to mention turning Kilik into Edge Master lite. and, giving a yes to Dampierre but not Amy (yes I know people theorize she's Viola), Cassandra, Talim, Seong Mi-Na or Setsuka? Really guys?

To be honest, the story mode of this game wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. It was still enjoyable, albeit kinda lacking. Patroklos himself was an okay character, and Pyrrha was far better in my opinion, but I like them both (and I play as them most often in SCV too). Overall, I'd give the story mode a 6.5/10 ranking. Not really good, but not really bad either.

Pyrrha was a victim to a sword since birth, having been kidnapped, used, and controlled, while not truly having any one there for her, save for arguably her fiance who was later killed, unwillingly became a malfested, and not being allowed to truly live life, in not having done a single thing wrong. Where as you, Patroklos, has killed numerous innocents, willingly followed a corrupt individual, never truly got any information about malfested, and debate-ably ran away from his sister during time of need. Remind me again what Pyrrha did wrong.

This is sophitia kids after all they should did better 2. Where's the love for the other characters mini story into their roles and how they got to where they 3. Although I know that the storyline was shortened because the creators of the game were low on time, I think Talim would've played a really good role in the full story if they kept her. Especially if she became associated with Pyrrha during the story. Plus then there would've been epic character conflicts between Talim and Tira to save/kidnap Pyrrha, and maybe even a side story between her and Viola. It's such a shame they took her out, this would've been the time she'd be needed the most. :/

The whole "time constraint" thing really blows and it shows. The most powerful scene to me was from 5:10 onwards, but there was so little build-up to it. I also find it distasteful how Pyrrha and Patroklos spew out the moral(s) of their story by the ending, rather than act it out (again probably due to said constraints). I see those two scenes and just imagine how much better they and the whole story could have been if the development team weren't kept on such a leash...

OK, anti-bashing time: Yes, Patroklos started out as a thoroughly unlikable little shit, I'm not denying that, what with his delusions of justice and his killing of innocents, but in the end, I'd say that he's at least is on the right path to redeeming himself, like Siegfried was before him. α Patroklos, on the other hand, became more determined, focus, patient, and thoughtful. He came to understand the mistakes that he made whilst under the thumb of Nightmare/Dumas, and the sins he committed whilst under Soul Calibur's possession. That's the one thing I don't get about people that bash α Patroklos: the only reason he killed Pyrrha before was because he was under Soul Calibur's control; the same way Pyrrha Ω was under Soul Edge's control, and the same goes with Siegfried under Soul Edge's control. It wasn't really him in control of himself that that point, so I don't see why people selectively hate Patroklos for that and not Siegfried for doing the same thing. And even before that, when Pyrrha first transformed into a Malfested, he didn't immediately try to kill her, or reject her. He was startled, in shock, and didn't know what to think. He even said, "Just give me a moment" because he was in over his head and needed time to think. And in the end, he snapped and ran away because Pyrrha didn't give him ample time. (I'm NOT saying it's her fault, it was just an unfortunate series of events.) All Patroklos wanted to do was save Pyrrha all along; Soul Calibur and Nightmare/Dumas simply took advantage of his wounded soul to manipulate him. In the end, even his hatred of the Malfested was somewhat understandable; they killed his mother, took his aunt, kidnapped his sister, and destroyed his family. (As well, the Malfested *ARE* by-in-large evil creatures. Though as we've seen, there are certainly exceptions, but the majority of them *ARE* evil.)

But from what I remember, malfestation was some sort of curse from Soul Edge itself; when its victims 'experienced intense emotion', they could mutate into powerful forms. (I believe that due to the constant rejection, isolation and cursed accusations she faced as 'The Bringer of Woe', these feelings played a major part in her transformation into Pyrrha Omega.) It's known that both Pyrrha and Patroklos were at risk of being influenced due to one of its shards being near Sophitia's heart (a result of her injuries in 'Soul Edge') but upon her birth, Pyrrha managed to absorb a vast majority of its energy, leaving only a dark aura surrounding her. During the events of SCIV, she was kidnapped and purposefully exposed to its influence, up to the point that it would mean her death, should its energy disappear (I still don't know if this is canon or not so I'm sorry about that). Upon Soul Edge's destruction in SCIV, Sophitia made the decision to sacrifice herself; she removed the shard from her heart and placed it within Pyrrha to ensure her survival (under the belief that its energy would keep her alive). I've probably been going on the wrong track here but when you think about it a bit, there was no way she'd be completely unscathed after this. Even if it had nothing to do with her malfestation, she would still be affected, whether it's by Soul Edge or trauma from this journey and her past.

An art book was released that explained a lot of little details. Among these was that Setsuka resolved her whole revenge plot and started helping in an orphanage and teaching kids her style. Among these was Patroklos (since both of his parents kinda died).

Was I the only one who liked Patroklos? I've seen video game heroes who've killed innocent people before, be they villains who later turn good or anti-heroes who break "traditional" hero rules and no one complains about them. Kratos kills countless innocents during his service to Ares and possibly millions more because of the death of the gods and ingnores their cries for help, and gamers are ok. Dante Aligheri from the Dante's Inferno game kills 3000 prisoners in the name of God, only to redeem himself much later after admitting he is beyond redemption, and gamers are ok. Patroklos kills one guy, and everyone immediately hates him and refuses to accept him as a hero even when he realizes his mistakes, refuses to kill Pyrrha even when Soul Calibur tells him to, and finally destroys the Soul Swords with his sister ending thousands of years of pain and suffering. What's with you people?

Well if something kills someone you love like a family member, be it a parent, sibling, spouse or child, you might think all things like it are the same way. This has happened before, people hating something after one tragic event. For instance, after 9/11 a lot of people distrusted Muslims because the bombers were Islamic Fanatic terrorists. Now I'm not saying these prejudices are right because they're not, but I know that these things can happen in real life, it's something we have to deal with. I suppose you could make the argument that all the characters behave more like actual people. Also, If someone you loved, be it a parent, sibling, spouse or child turned into a demon, zombie or any other kind of dark unholy creature, your fight or flight instinct would trigger causing you to run. THAT'S what happened in the cinematic.

I don't see why people are calling this bad, I played the series since SC2, and I rather loved this, if anything, tied with SC3 as my fav, and I thought the story was very good, cant hurt to do something new for once, and I thought they did successfully. Though I do wish they did all scenes like this, its too beautiful to only be seen at certain moments.

If they were to create Soul Calibur 6 in the future, I believe the Main Character for SC6 would be Pyrrha b/c her story will be her "redemption/atonement" story. We can see at the end of SC5, Pyrrha Dark Omega Powers remains permanent (based from her "claw" is still present---despite her eyes came back to normal). In a possible SC6, Omega Pyrrha would have nightmare visions of her "creepy eye" version everytime when she looked at her right hand claw (as a sign & reminder of her past). And I think there would a scene where Omega Pyrrha learns to uses her dark powers to fight her dark self & preventing the darkness from taking over her entirely. I would envisioned seeing 2 Omega Pyrrha dueling; both with same outfit & "claw" & both dueling with their dark powers; only difference would be their eyes and one can tell which one is real Omega Pyrrha & which one is her dark doppelganger.

Honestly, had they expanded the first part of the story, deepened the relationship between Patroklos and Pyrrha, removed the whole 'Elysium' nonsense, and ended it right after Pyrrha Omega's death, it wouldn't have been all that terrible. That is not Sophita. That's the spirit of the soul calibur sword, Elysium. She can turn herself into any form she wants to get people to do what she wants. She turned into Sophita because Patrolkolos really missed her and loved her. It's the perfect disguse. Soul Edge can do the same thing. Voldo always protected soul edge thinking he heard his master's voice coming out of it.

This should really be called Soul Calibur: The Next Generation because there are so many of the original character's children and students. Like I am slightly excited and yet thrown off. (Especially for Xianghua and Kilik who are so obviously meant to be together but instead just had a love child) So interesting but definitely a twist to the Soul Calibur series.
