The year was 1986 and the venue was Moss Side Library, The 8411 centre. The Mastermind Roadshow from London met with Manchester's Mike Shaft and Foot Patrol provided the dance entertainment. Your collective dress sense leaves a lot to be desired and some of your parents should be reported to the authorities for allowing you to leave the house dressed like this!!!

I think this video is a very, VERY important historical artefact. We have all heard so many times that House music from Chicago in the 1980s (and Detroit Techno) was a local underground black / hispanic / gay music craze. And the legend goes that if the music hadn't crossed over to Europe, it wouldn't have been a worldwide phenomenon. Well, this video seems to be the first video evidence of when and how House music first got to other shores and started to infect the whole world. Kudos, this video is of international historical importance! Wow! Preserve ! ❤

@@pussycatlover6522 - It says 1984…this place was called the 8411 centre and was at the back of the old Moss Side precinct facing St Mary’s church. It was demolished as part of the redevelopment of Moss Side and Hulme, there are houses on that site now. It was a great venue, that was for the community.

It's Mastermind from London. They used a PA system as opposed to a Sound System back then. This session was a seminal moment in music history, as it is the first known footage of House Music being played in the world...

Correct, but according to the BBC & others, House kicked off in London during the Summer of Love in 1988 & it's creator was Judge Jules. 🙄 This was filmed 2 years before their claim. We had a job schooling them that in the North of England we were dancing & making House/Garage since 1982. Can anyone help me ID the version of Love Can't Turn Around at the start ,with the female vocals. It's a nice alternative to the equally excellent Daryl Pandy vocals. I shazzamed it but the only alternative was by Philly Cream but that track doesn't seem to match as the bassline isn't as strong.
