@@lucaleone4331 How is it weird?
@lucaleone43314 жыл бұрын
@@panpan4757 Its not hinted at in the first one. (Which worst case scenario she didnt know how a LGBT relationship would effect a debut novel so left it out, or best case she didnt think of it then and put it into the sequel which is already filled with too many unnecessary plot/ time wasting elements) And it just seems to be a random side plot thats dropped after the half way mark. I also think that the moral of their relationship "A honorable samurai prince respecting and believing in a honorless ronan pig" becomes a more impactful and meaningful from a platonic relationship, instead of mixing/ skewing in romance/ a sexual attraction.

Honestly, this book series would be the perfect anime! Like, its' like Inuyasha, Dororo and Full Metal Alchemist were combined into one.

I can't picture this as anything but an anime, particularly one by Studio Ghibli.

Some books should be adapted into an anime/animated series instead of a live-action! I would be the happiest person haha.

Right? I mean, I’m choosing to be optimistic about the Witcher adaptation, but if they’d made an animated adaptation that looked like the trailers for Witcher 3, I’d be so happy 😆 Anyway, this story should totally be an anime :D

I'm reading this right now and almost finished. The first 3/4 of the book is so slow for me. :( It's still really good but I kept finding myself wanting to pause and read something else real quick and go back to it.

PLEASE read red winter by Annette Marie! I loved it! It deserves so much more recognition than it has. I picked up 'Shadow of the Fox' after I read the Red Winter trilogy and I still enjoyed it much more than SOTF.

I watched the non spoiler review part Elliot. From what you said here; i think a Shadow Of The Fox anime would be a huge hit. Maybe give it like full metal alchemist vibe with naruto style action. The idea of a traveling story like this fit well with my love for action. I'm totally sucker for Japanese folk lore. I gotta grab these two soon or find a used book store 😄. Anywho, have a blessed happy reading day! 💜

Thanks Georgio! Yes, if it had FMA vibes, it would be awesome. I think that kinda combined with the Samurai X movie...that’s how I picture it 😆

Spoooiler Talk: I think this book was hit hard with a case of Middle Book syndrome. I think something that struck me odd about something you said was "You get the villains POV so so it feels faster"? or something like that. I really felt the opposite. I didnt understand why we had 3 POV and following Haikomono so much made it drag. He just went around being a cocky jerk and bragging about people and be that cliche "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" kinda guy lol I feel like she had to write that POV in so we could get the interesting ending from his perspective of the final fight. (which I actually really like the ending, I think it helped me not dislike the book as a whole, great way to finish) Im just glad I liked the characters because I feel like alot of this book was kind of a waste of time and I dont think it needed to be as long as it was. (Which is interesting because Im pretty sure you even said the 3rd book is surprisingly short lol) With its ending I assume its setting up the wish to separate Tatsumi and Haikomono? Lastly I sadly dont agree with the romance of the two. I DEFINITELY like their dynamic and like both of them, but I still dont quite understand the romance. I think if we got more of Yumeko seeing his true gentle side (like when she possessed him in the end) and he learning a little bit more about her. I can see it working out, I have faith in the 3rd book. Looking forward to finishing the last one even if this one wasnt my favorite lol (Also sorry this is so late, I only just now finished the book...like litteraly 5 minutes ago, had to come back for your review )

Read this book and it really didn't do anything for me :'[ I adored the first book but the second one.... felt like it was rushed and didn't have the same feel as the first one. The second one had a lot of moments that didn't make sense and it skipped out on LOTS of side/main character growth. And like you said I totally did miss Yumeko and Tatsumi working together but the idea with both of them sperated we could have gotten more character development out of them both. Another thing I found lacking was Tatsumis' point of view. Like when Tatsumi was in control (first book) we got to see Hakaimono fighting back and trying to sway Tatsumi into using his power. I would have liked to see more reactions from Tatsumi or even him fighting back. Just, this book was pretty bad so I got to give it a 2/5 and the only reason it still has a 2 is because of the mythical stuff, but even some of those felt pointless.
@lucaleone43314 жыл бұрын
Wow, I so agree. (Though I didnt even like Hakaimono chapters) This was very Middle Book syundrome, I feel like she had too many ideas for her characters and wanted to put them in even though she shouldnt have. I still dont know if we even needed the parts with the ghost girl?
@gingersnapcam73344 жыл бұрын
@@lucaleone4331 😂😂😂 DUDE! I thought the ghost girl was set free in the first book and when I saw her I was very confused! And also that mystery guy and the goblin with the one eye chapters were super dumb. In the first book it seemed like the author had this really cool secret to reveal but then it's revealed and stupid??? Just :'(
