Um...this country couldn't find enough naturally slim and attractive people in that age range to do this show today. Our society is fat or riddled with fake parts aka plastic surgery. Age has nothing to do with this either, obese starts at age 2 now and kids get plastic surgery as presents from their parents. This type of health we see in these videos no longer exists as it is mental health/wellness todays society lacks as well.
@truth29726 жыл бұрын
M Styles - wrong, wrong, wrong. Age has everything to do with it. Some of these dancers are semi-professional dancers selected to make the Soul Train dance sphere attractive and entertaining. These people are no more representative of average blacks at that time than a Miss America pageant is representative of women at any given time. These people are young and in their physical prime 18-24yrs old. There are obese people in this country, but there are also plenty of slim fit people too. Most high school and college age girls are very body conscious. It all depends on what community you're in. Middle and upper middle class black females are going to be fit and slim.
@mstyles26676 жыл бұрын
Um ok...I am a professional bodybuilder and was a professional soccer player in my youth. The best shape people I know and see are ALL OVER THE AGE OF 40. But I am sure you know better. And to tell me obesity is not an issue lolololol open your eyes and stop making this sh*t a race issue. Get over it. And tell me this is not about mental health as well lolololo wake up. I am SO SICK of RACE being brought into EVERYTHING. This is BEYOND RACE, stop being such a bigot.
@truth29726 жыл бұрын
M Styles - apparently I do know better. I agreed that obesity is an issue in this country, but I'm able to put things into the proper perspective. You said the people, in your experience, that are in the best shape are all over the age of 40. That sounds biased and is almost certainly a misperception of reality probably based largely on the people that you associate with at this point in your life. Physical fitness, health, and weight, are primarily the result of 4 main factors; genetics, age, diet, and level of physical activity. 1. Genetics - our individual genetic coding determines our individual default metabolism. And even though physical activity and diet (including medications both legal and illegal) can "disturb" or disrupt our natural metabolism it is a natural phenomenon as old as the human animal itself that metabolism is more active and "aggressive" when we are born and in our youthful years to support growth and development and naturally slows as we age. 2. Diet - we are not necessarily what we eat. As mentioned above diet affects our health and physical fitness, but doesn't determine it. The human body has the remarkable ability to synthesize some of what it doesn't get naturally. So even though you may not eat a healthy diet you can still end up being a healthy person. 3. Physical activity - of course the more physically active you are, the healthier you will be. 4. Age - The human animal, like all living organisms goes through a natural cycle of life. People are not born with grey hair, bad knees, and wrinkles. That's a result of the aging process. As for the race, bigot comment, I'm not sure you understand what a bigot is. The definition of a bigot is someone who is intolerant of the differences of others. Nothing I said suggested intolerance. The only reason I mentioned race at all is because Soul Train is very widely known to have been an African American television show with an African American host, featuring African American music artists, and minority studio dancers and guests. You should get your sensitivity in check. You shouldn't allow the mere mention of race to cause you to go the defense.

Ok, let me clarify something to those of you who don't know: Michael had 4 Number one hits in a row on his first album...he was 11 years old. He was nominated for an Oscar and performed on the Academy Awards show when he was about 13 years old. By the time he was 25 years old he was in the Stratosphere looking down on other artists who only could dream of being as talented, famous and loved by so many as he was! So there's no need to compare him to anyone else because simply....there is and never will be anyone who can compare to him! How's that!?
