Most of SC6's systems were made or tweaked in response to all the various criticisms they got out of SC3, SC4, and SC5. SC3: Not balanced for multiplayer, but good single player.... SC6 Has focus on both. SC4: Movement slowed, too combo-focused, SC6 has SC2 level movement, and there are fewer super-long combo strings. SC5: Nearly everything? Cast, slow-8way, guard impacts tied to meter etc.... all of that fixed in SC6.

Housin Engi I agree. Ive been waiting for a Soulcalibur game, ever since 5, because. Soulcalibur needed to push back up and be done with care, I have a feeling we might get what we wish or want, because it sounds like namco is listening. I love the Soulcalibur series as a whole, and it be nice to see it get love once more. I know tekken is their cash cow, as Pokémon is for Nintendo. But eventually they start to run its course and you can see it, same with games in general. but I feel like Soulcalibur VI is a breathe of fresh air, it’s trying to expand on it, and after testing the demo. I can tell the 6 year wait is worth it, because it’s gonna be great, I say screw the people who say it’s trash or the sales didn’t match, I’m at least happy to know Soulcalibur tried and it was awesome! I just kinda wish a few things were added, but we might get them in the future, who knows. But, still, I think people should be at least more forgiving, because think of the limitations of putting it on other systems might be.

Soul Calibur 2 was my favorite game throughout the entire series it was just a huge thrill just playing Arcade Mode and challenges in order unlock all the secrets. I know the new game has DLC but to be honest I rather unlock secret characters and stages the old-fashioned way. But I'm still getting this game regardless.

I only started actually playing fighting games a little under a year ago. I got Xbox Game Pass and saw that they had SOULCALIBUR 1 and 2 HD Online in their catalog. I downloaded the original and SC and started to have a bunch of fun in Arcade mode. I had no idea what I was doing, but I was enjoying it. I went through Arcade mode for every character and played SCII and did the same. I even bought both games, and played through the rest of the series. While I didn't get to experience these games in arcades or during their online primes, I still had a bunch of fun and I went from complete button masher to competent enough to play online, and try out other fighting games. The atmosphere of SC just felt very interesting, the soundtracks were great, the characters were interesting, and the fighting is fast and fun. I played the Network Test and SC6 feels amazing so far. Already have my Collector's edition pre-ordered, hoping for some more fun times and getting to experience the game in its prime.

I remember playing the first soul calibur in arcades as a little kid and just getting instantly hooked. The characters were so cool, wasn’t used to weapons in fighting games outside Yoshimitsu in tekken, just loved it. Started picking up the games ever since when I found them in stores. I’m excited for the new story mode too, I hope they explore the lore a bit more like promised- the game has always had interesting tidbits spread out in manuals and backstories, so I hope more attention is brought to it in both regular story mode and the create a character story mode

I've been playing fighting games for a long, long time, but Soul Calibur was the tipping point where I went from casual to die-hard. SC in the arcades and then on the Dreamcast changed my life. SC II cemented it as an absolute, undeniable favorite. I've played every major release since and loved them all in one way or another. I'm excited for SC6 and I can't wait to get started.

This video is killing me. Bringing back all the memories. I was so hype for Soul Edge before it came out just because of the characters. I remember the character cards the gaming stores had. I remember before the main arcade in my local mall closed, gathering up to the Soul Calibur 1 machine in a dark room and me and a good friend just taking over. I remember when I got my first job, and every paycheck I saved for months to buy a Dreamcast just for SC1. I remember hunting all over the southern half of NJ to find a Soul Calibur 2 cabinet when I first heard they were out. Remember importing 2 for Gamecube and playing for 4 hours straight with a friend. All the gatherings and tournements in NJ when I was young enough to do all that. All the friends I made because of it. Soul Calibur 6 is giving me that feeling again. I never could do all that at this point, but I still plan on getting everything I can out of it on PC at least.

Being honest, I started with Soul Calibur 2. I never finished it because I was around 9/10. A year or two later, I got Soul Calibur 3 because I absolutely loved 2. I loved 3 even more and I was actually able to complete it ..twice! (weird disk error wiped my memory clean) Soul Calibur Legends was really fun, I don't know why people don't like it. Me, at 11/12, jumping around slashing a Wii controller for fun? God that was great. Soul Blade and the first Soul Calibur I was lucky enough to find in my friend's basement, Soul Blade at least, for the PS1. I like how all 10 characters' stories are intertwined with each other so perfectly, and it also made me use the older cast over the newer cast (Seong Mina over Kilik, Rock over Astaroth, Long over Maxi, etc.) Soul Calibur 5 and 4 I got when I was 13, around the same year. The graphics were stunning, seeing them on the 360 and PS3. I loved SC4's character creation and the Tower Of Lost Souls, the Tag mechanics I wished continued in SC5 (it didn't) I sadly only got the demo for SC1 because it was available on the Xbox marketplace for a limited time.

When I first got ahold of Soul Calibur for Sega Dreamcast in the year 2002, I was estatic to find out the game I had gotten for Christmas hit the heights of strategic depth and epic presentation that have been staples of this series since the very beginning! Now as an adult nearly 16 years later, we've come full circle seeing the Soul series hit every major modern platform with the fanfare it rightfully deserves. I took mushrooms once and only once in my life. The guy in whose flat we were in that day had a Playstation and Soulblade. I played the game for the first time, seriously thinking the fate of the world depended on me beating it (arcade mode). It was intense. I played Rock and since you are all alive and the world hasn't been (completely) destroyed yet you already know that I succeeded. Long story short, I can't wait for SCVI and I'm going to be that old dude who kicks your asses.

I was a very good SCII player but at the time, I couldn't comptete in tournaments (country boy), then I became a PC player and my dream to become a competitive SC player was forgotten. MONEY!!! with out the money they cant make a deal to do guest characters as they need to do a contract and pay a base fee. since the game is already lacking alot of money they have to sell alot of the games. i dont think Squar is blindly gonna let the only character to not be a fighter in any game go to this with out a steep fee. notics was cheap as square wanted him EVERYWHERE to promote the 15th game of FF really a mobile game and it ported to consols a mincraft skin, ect no he was dirt cheap 2B wont be as she barly is anywhere

Xiao Mei I think they just need one more guest character that'll bring people in & still fit, unlike Yoda. Only chars I can think of are : •2b •A dark souls char (don't know the game but I know it's popular) •Hoahmaru (samurai shodown) •William (nioh) not popular •cloud or sephiroth Probably going to end up being something out of the box like negan in tekken. Maybe a game of thrones character lol

... oh please don't say that... XD ... the whole Negan thing was... man... and i'm a big Walking Dead fan, but that... was wayyy left field. ... Tekken is safe though. They could get away with silly additions to the cast. Tekken is well established. Soul Calibur can't risk doing anything crazy like this right now. It is trying to appeal to the world right now to be revived. ... hate to throw this out there, but... Sex Sells. Fact. If they did this with 2B, success rate of this game's sells will skyrocket. ... but like Housin Engi said... Money is kind of the issue here. ... they have to get over that hump first before ANYMORE guest characters are added. ... but then again... now that I think about it... I don't think it's quite the money that is the issue here. ... NAMCO is the issue. For them not having much faith in the Soul Calibur Series... it means they aren't willing to put out a lot of money to support it. ... the sells of this game upon release need to impress Namco first. And I pray it does. Because as it seems, if the demand is high enough, then the team will likely go for it. ... 2B seems to be leading the charge on that right now... but we have to wait until the game's release to truly see where the numbers will take us. ... please Namco... give Soul Calibur VI what it needs to be able to go all out. And if it still fails... only then should you let it die. ... for the Fans, Namco... For the Fans.

Soul Calibur is my favorite fighting game franchise of all time. The Stage of History keeps me xoming back to the games. Soul Calibur II & IV were my first, Soul Calibur II is my favorite of the series, and Siegfried is my player. SO HYPED FOR SOUL CALIBUR VI!

To me soul calibur was easy to get into. Blocking is just one button and there isn't too much emphasis on combos. Its truly a sword fighting game where you need guard, fight, and dodge. Poking is just as important as putting out combos and like I said again combos aren't a big emphasis. And the ring out system was a good equalizer as well. Even if you're behind with the health difference, if you can at least push the opponent into a corner or they weren't aware enough where they could possibly get ring out, then it can create a good comeback.

Soul Calibur will forever be my favorite fighting game franchise. Soul Calibur has my favorite fighting game characters Taki and Ivy. My favorite villain (Nightmare), my favorite Bruce Lee inspired character (Maxi), My favorite staff fighting character (Kilik), my favorite video game samurai (Mitsurugi), and my favorite fictional pirate (Cervantes). Not to mention other phenomenal characters I love like Talim, Tira, Sophitia, Cassandra, Pyrrah, Amy/Viola, Zasalamel, and Siegfried. While I do love SC II my favorite entry in the series is SC III due to the amount of single player content, especially the introduction of character creation. I really hope SC VI has a great arcade mode or something like Tales of Souls. Based on what I've heard and seen, SC VI has a good story mode that shares similarities to Chronicles of the Sword. Soul Calibur for life!!

SC2 is god tier: Fast tight gameplay and awesome music. No offense, but Namco knows the engine ain't gonna get soul calibur 2 tight experience. Like super smash bros melee - very similar.
