Soulflayer Combo - Budget Modern Deck Tech ($80)

Jank Combo deck TIME! Lets take a look at the Soulflayer Combo. So the objective is to dump a bunch of creatures with Keywords abilities on them into your graveyard, play soulflayer with it's delve ability to eat all of said creatures. THEN, swing at your opponents face until they fall down, because having a 4/4 creature with all the keyword abilities = best creature in magic! Repeat until you win the game. Now this is more of a Aggro Combo deck as you do not just win the game once you manage to play a soulflayer, but it is also better then most 2 card combos, it's more like a 1 card combo that gets better with more cards.

bomat courier is sweet because he can potentially protect your soulflayer from discard spells, while in exile other than the the few eldrazi that use exile for stuff theyre safe, waiting on you to pop that courier and laugh a lot im loving courier in stadard and i think it'll see a decent amount of modern play

The deck is brilliant and cool! It seems to have a weakness, when the sylvan caryatid is exiled, won't the "defender" ability trigger and make your soulflayer unable to attack? What is the latest MTG ruling on that particular ability?

There is a list of what abilities Soulflayer can get from other cards. Defender is not one :)

Sorry to be so pedantic, but lotleth troll will practically never be a 4/4. The closest it can be is either a 4/3, a 5/4 or a 6/5 with liliana +1-ing on him I'd also like to point out that some of the pronunciations are actually terrible: Drogskol Reaver -> Drogskol Ravenger Zetalpa, Primal Dawn -> Zetapala, Primal Dawn Bomat Courier -> Bombat Courier Ghor Clan Rampager -> Ghor-Chan Rampager Traverse the Ulvenwald -> Traverse the Underward

The answer you are looking for is Dyslexia. Yes it is a major problem I have. Cards with strange spellings, big words or made up words throw me right off. I try to make the mispronunciation a running joke on the channel as it is an unavoidable disability that I can not get rid off.
