My oldest daughter bought tickets to see him for the first time last night here in San Antonio. I brought tears to my eyes. Brought back memories of hearing him for the first time in 66. was in 1st grade and my uncle had just returned from Nam. He always played Smokey and the Temptations. I fell in love with his music then. I went to it throughout my life time during many of my trials and tribulations. Here I am at 56 but I finally saw my idol. I wish he knew what happiness he's brought. I got my oldest hooked on him and other Motown greats. As we were driving home I asked her to expose his music to my 4 yr old grandson when he grows up.

My favorite Motown group and when I was fourteen a friend and I went to our usual Friday night dance at the Walled Lake Casino near Detroit. I had no idea 12 yr old Stevie Wonder would be there singing his hit Fingertips, he was so great and then low and behold they announced Smokey Robinson and the Miracles were going to perform next. I about died! Smokey was my dreamboat idol. The white suits and the music, it was magic. First song, Shop Around. What a night. I still love them at 72.

the guy who came to put the records in said I could put my own records in...all he wants is the 25 cents...Tracks of my Tears was one of the songs I first put in the juke ...Friday nite people were asking " Man where did the songs come from???"...music can make the Magic happen. .I know it sounds naive..but this simple act of being able to put my own songs in our sportscaster gave me my first glimpse of POWER..I WAS 18...I AM 62 NOW..and I know have The Power and Wisdom of life...but it all started with this song...I can still setheje faces and hear thej enthusiasm of my friends reaction to this Magic moment...SHAZAAM!

I remember late 80’s this song being re-released It was constantly played in my folks pub. In south London. Was incredible and we loved it…, 32/33 ish years later (I’m 49) I see Smokey Robinson in last few months on an American chat show! Looking incredible! Time and the concept of time, is bizarre. He’s my parents age. But popped up on screen the other week, looking 30 years younger!

Memories like this song keep me young at heart...born in 1946 and heard music at its best until the 80.s then it went downhill and its never coming back...so sad.

As an entertainment reporter for the Biloxi newspaper, it was my privilege to interview Smokey Robinson when he was going to appear at one of the casinos there. What can I say? An incredibly kind and generous man. Just total class.
