My oldest daughter bought tickets to see him for the first time last night here in San Antonio. I brought tears to my eyes. Brought back memories of hearing him for the first time in 66. was in 1st grade and my uncle had just returned from Nam. He always played Smokey and the Temptations. I fell in love with his music then. I went to it throughout my life time during many of my trials and tribulations. Here I am at 56 but I finally saw my idol. I wish he knew what happiness he's brought. I got my oldest hooked on him and other Motown greats. As we were driving home I asked her to expose his music to my 4 yr old grandson when he grows up.

My favorite Motown group and when I was fourteen a friend and I went to our usual Friday night dance at the Walled Lake Casino near Detroit. I had no idea 12 yr old Stevie Wonder would be there singing his hit Fingertips, he was so great and then low and behold they announced Smokey Robinson and the Miracles were going to perform next. I about died! Smokey was my dreamboat idol. The white suits and the music, it was magic. First song, Shop Around. What a night. I still love them at 72.
