Best buy sells the ENVY 16-h1023dx for 1700 and i got it on sale for 1200usd. Same specs except it has an i9 processor and the ram isn't upgraded from 16gb. I enjoy the laptops aluminum body .

I bought this laptop (HP Envy 16-h1023dx) last June 22, 2023. Mine died after just 5 months! The RTX 4060 GPU died. It is currently at an HP service center where it has been for 5 weeks. Now they are saying at least 2 more weeks! They say they are waiting for a new motherboard.

I just bought this little stunner after MUCH research! I nearly bought a Macbook, but I just can't get behind apple. They have great performance, bu t its just not worth the inflated price. I am grateful that I went with HP instead.

Agreed. I bought my Envy 16 (i9) model in May 2023, knowing full well of the Macbook battery life advantages. I absolutely made the right decision. While I prefer the look of MacOS, the functionality of Windows 11 I prefer. And we won't even go into software options. Love my Envy 16.

Thank You for your review. I bought this one as a student. It has the Core i7 13700H 16GB DDR5 RAM 1TB SSD 2560p Display 120HZ but Intel Arc A370M compared to the RTX 3060 option as there was no RTX variant at the store. I love this laptop though, it is superb. It is much better than my old loser Acer Swift 3 2019 with terrible specs like only 4GB RAM lol

From my experience the XPS has better build quality than the Envy (better hinge, keyboard, slimmer bezels, etc.,). However the Envy has quite a bit better performance due to the higher-wattage GPU and better thermal solution (vapor chamber). The 90W 4060 in the Envy is extremely good and beats out even the 4070 in the XPS since it only has 40W. The Envy also has more "goodies" like the high refresh rate display, better webcam, etc., Both are upgradable with RAM and SSD slots.

the xps would be much better. the envy's build quality is bad and the hinges will break the speakers sound not that great and such. honestly i would prefer a lower wattage cooler running quieter laptop i think the 90 watt gpu thing reaaly isnt worth the hinge failures, worse touchpad, worse speakers and worse keyboard. the battery life on the dell would be better too

@@odevnohmy I got it this week end. General impression is amazing. I would only have moved USB and charging on the left side in order to avoid to have problems with mouse (for right handed). May I ask you if I can charge the PC also using the USB C type ? I ask this because the charger is so damn huge and I would like not to use it when I am moving for work ! It's almost as heavy as the whole PC !

If your primary use case is gaming, then go with the asus. if your use case is for other things like college and work stuff, the HP envy is the better option. The HP has better battery life and is more aesthetically pleasing though.

Please confirm that the two top firing speakers on either side of the keyboard actually push out sound. I've watched another review where they said the tow grills serve no audio purpose at all. I'm wondering if this is something that can be activated in the audio settings.

they probably sound the same as the envy 15 2020 2021 ... whatever. they are te exact same speakers that has been being used on the envy laptops for some time now so dont expect anything better than like a tablet speaker. they sound really clear vocals and the highs are really well tuned it does get loud too but there is just no bass. if you dont listen to bassy songs it wont be problem. agaşn just like tablet speakers

Brother does this laptop has heating issue or it feels so hot because of aluminium chassis. I want to buy one for solidworks and CAE software. Some say that heat can fey their gpu. Here i have i7 version. What is your opinion ​@SoulOfTech

it hurt me when he was messing with the hinge like that. if you do that on daily the hinge will break and the display will pop out after like 6 months of use. so dont do that you need to be really careful with the lid on hp laptops. they will break anyway but if you force it around like that it will break way sooner. make sure you open the laptop from the middle distributing the force equally and not using too much force and dont let it wobble like that. that puts too much pressure on where the hinge connects to the lid and will cause it to break really soon

Hey I totally agree with everything you said, just want to point out I do that on purpose as an extreme test on the hinge to see its out of box quality. Using that kind of force allows me to get an idea of the hinge quality very quickly (the alternative would be to wait several months with general use). To your point though, for any one reading this please do not use the hinge like I did in this video lol

I was looking at rtx 4060 gaming laptops which were about 4200-4500 AED but this popped up. the specs are the same but only the HP has a touch screen and amoled while being 4100AED. But looking at the laptop it might have some thermal issues on longs gaming sessions. Im going to use an external monitor so the keyboard heating up doesnt matter to me as long as it doesnt harm the laptop itself. i mostly play valorant and some story games occasionally. How would it compare to a gaming laptop (lenovo legion 5)

I have a small nitpick...but before I mention it...let me say that I understand the reasoning why. Here goes...when I see my beautiful HP Envy 16 with the Nvidia and Intel stickers still on it I PULL MY HAIR OUT!!! It's a clean looking laptop...except for the ugly blue and green stickers on every review unit. That's it. OH, I own the i9 model of this same laptop.
