Today's music doesn't get to me like this. I guess I'm just old. Yet my kids love this too.

It's so wonderful that we can enjoy this music, this gold of the past, thanks to KZbin. Without this legacy of happy music, the 21st century would be unbearable..

I would have given anything to have seen the complete James Brown Revue back in the day. Complete with The JB's, Lynn Collins, Marva Whitney,Vicky Anderson, Bobby Byrd, Maceo, And don't forget Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham and many others too numerous to mention. The fact that a lot of James Browns musicians left was obvious, not being able to appear on the same stage playing their own music. (Called teamwork)

what is Soul?.... THIS IS.. fabulous..

You mentioned Bootsy Collins, but he wasn't in the James Brown Orchestra. The elite set of musicians that backed Marva Whitney could not be equaled. There are a few of them in this set, but without the rest of that original group of musicians,no band will never come close to what was played by them. They were just what each other needed to reach that unique sound. God bless them all, and those who now stand in their places. Only if they could still be playing. It would be past Remarkable.

To Gary Gordon - I believe that is Bobby Byrd's youngest son. Sorry, I can't recall the name.

His son is Tony bird. And that is him playing the drums. His other son also plays keyboard name Bartlett Anderson bird. But, I don't think he is on this clip.

@sashineb.21144 жыл бұрын
Miss Martha High was one of James Brown's backup singers. She had been with him for years. She has videos on KZbin.
