This is from the pre-PBS, pre-Soul Train TV show "Soul!" out of New York which was the brainchild of Ellis Haizlip, the story of was featured in the movie "Mr. Soul!" This particuar episode was aired February 9, 1972 in which the group gave one of the finest and most heart renderig performances of their career. My brother and I are 62 and 63 years old , and we both had a crush on Gladys as far back as the early 70's . The strange thing is we were white kids , and lived in Orange Co. Calif. . The other kids at school were into bands like the Jackson 5 , or the Partridge Family , the Osmonds , etc etc . I will always have that crush !
