Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. I am a single black woman and was looking to have a house built. I went to several builders. One builder company that I went to ignored me and saw several other families before me even though I had a scheduled appointment time. When she finally sat down to meet with me, she kept telling me that the custom things I wanted were too expensive. And she kept trying to end the meeting quickly. When I finally told her my income, her entire tone and demeanor changed. Smh. I said "never mind" and walked out. I ended up getting an even better home built by a different builder who treated me with respect from start to finish.

A similar thing happened to me, as a mixed race individual i get discriminated alot, especially down south but I'm used to it. But when i went to a contractor company about having a house built, I regret going their, I've never felt like that before, they said I couldn't afford the house like the one i was describing and said i was wasting their time, So i left as i was leaving my uncle who was the CEO and owner recognised me and asked me what was wrong, so i told him and he said he would handle it, when i walked back with him to her office you should have seen her face, she asked why didn't I tell her that the CEO was my uncle, so i told her why should i, do i need to tell everyone that my fathers a wealthy white man to be treated with respect as far as i know she and her staff that treated me poorly where fired. I learned that no matter where you go you'll be judge and that needs to change.

I was at a car dealership when this old farmer walked in and started looking at a Ford pickup in the showroom. The salesman ignored him for about 10 min. When this old man got his attention and he had to go over and talk to him,you could tell he wasn't happy. The old man asked him a bunch of questions about the trucks engine and drive train, warranties, availability, and color choices. The salesman answered most of the questions, showed all the enthusiasm of a man going to the dentist.About this time the owner of the dealership came in, rushes over to the old farmer, shakes his hand ,slaps him on the back and asks if he's being served.needless to say the salesman was stunned.Thats when the owner explains theve done business with this old farmer for 30 years. And this old man owns 3 farms in the area, and rotates out his trucks every 5 years.Long story short, the old man ordered 11 new trucks, writes a check and arranges to pick up the trucks the next week.

I really liked the video. You can never judge a book by its cover. I've seen a very wealthy person drive a Ford Truck, and wear tattered clothing, and live in a regular middle class home. That's like the book entitled "The Millionaire Next Door." They acted just like a regular person, but a self-made multi-millionaire. That's called "old money," because they're not flashy, and they're not trying to impress anybody. As I said before, you can't judge a book by its cover.

Happened some sort to me at a lower scale when I was at the showroom to buy my first car. Nobody entertained me due to my race. All the others will get entertained even if they arrive later than me. I called the sales people a few times, none of them bothered or they just showed the hold up hand sign.. when one suddenly asked me "What are you doing here?", yes she said the same exact line, I told her what else I am here for? To buy a car and none of them is entertaining. She then ask a reluctant male colleague to guide me. His attitude changes once I provided him my pay slip documents for the car loan application. Here in my country we claim we are one of the most united multi-racial community, but our actions proved otherwise. House renting, house ownership, loan application, jobs, all are actually somewhat racial biased. I can't name the country else I will probably get arrested for excersixing my freedom of speech under the pretense I am creating "havoc" or disorder to the country's integrity and unity.

That racist prick probably did not have any more respect for him when he found out he was rich even making that joke about paying for the expensive car with cash (which is what drug dealers usually do as checks and credit cards leave more of a "trail" either with paper or electronically) because he probably assumed that the ONLY WAY for a black person to get rich is dealing drugs? He was TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I would have gotten him fired by filing a complaint against him.

It's funny how ppl think if someone buys a vehicle/house with cash that automatically makes them a drug dealer🙄 One of the worst outdated stereotypes ever...In the late 80s early 90s, dealerships started alerting the feds when someone wanted to make a purchase with thousands of dollars in cash so the ppl who were making illegal money took a different approach. It went from being stereotyped as a drug dealer to being treated unfair because of race. It's crazy that ppl still believe this nonsense and even more crazy how ppl think black ppl are the only drug dealers 🤦🏾♀️

I have also seen the opposite where I wasn't allowed a scholarship or job because of affirmative action. How is it anymore wrong to say you are a proud white person than it is to say you are a proud black person? Why not just I am a proud person? If you keep identifying yourself by race then why should be surprised when it's noticed for whatever reason? How is it right to take a job cause you are in the right group than it is to be denied for that reason? Racism isn't just the negative results of the action, it's anything based on it...good or bad.

. In 2005 I went to purchase a car at a dealership on Northern Blvd, Queens New York, I sat with an agent, after we talked he took all my information I picked out the car I was interested buying the salesperson then told me I couldn’t afford the car, I was disappointed, because I knew I had the money ,income and good credit, so the following Monday I walked into a BMW dealership in Brooklyn, NY. The reception was much different by the Wednesday afternoon of that same week I drove out in a spanking new 525i BWM. I supposed he thought a middle aged black woman didn’t deserve to have a nice car. He called me two weeks later to ask me if I was still looking for car because he had something he thought I would be interested in, I told him I was no longer looking because I had already bought a car he said you did! what did you buy? I told him 525i BMW and hang up the phone. We do get judged all the time.
