Not sure I could think of any of E's speakers that might be less good for amp comparisons than these QA's. Still differences are clearly appearent here, and to my ears the added warmth and midrange forwardness the C338 gives makes these pretty bland sounding 3030i's a touch more musicaly engaging to me. Like a 4 out of 10 as opposed to a 2 out of 10 with the Peachtree, wich I otherwise think I normaly prefer. 🤔 Synergy can be weird, man. 🙀

these are really great videos comparing the NAD against the Nova. I had the NAD 338 and upgraded to the Nova 150. Now I’m looking to potentially upgrade my old B&W DM303 bookshelf speakers and am considering some of the very speakers you have demo’d. It’s going to be a tough choice as I’m not sure it would be so much an upgrade as just something some different. The DM303’s have a 6 1/2 woofer. I also have a B&W 10” Subwoofer. Any thoughts?

It's a strange one. I find that sometimes the Nova 300 sounds better and sometimes the NAD C338 sounds better with these spealers. Which would I choose overall ? The C338.The Nova 300 sounds "off" on quite a few tracks.

The NAD wins by a wide margin. The Nova sounds very flawed on some tracks in comparison.

NAD C338 is more cleaner and sweeter.

The test is not valid. The ankle of the recording device changed a little bit between the two recordings. That's audible and visuable. The sound from the NAD comes out of the middle, the sound of the Nova comes more from the left channel. This little difference in the position of the recording device is responsible for the differences in the accoustic impressions of the two amps. If you make tests like this you should ensure that absolutely nothing changes except of the amp. It's even better, if you are positioning one amp over the other and only change the cables between the two recordings than to change the amps physically.

Ok, let's see you do better. Besides, that's BS. The vocals and other instruments that should be centered are located perfectly in the center on all tracks on both amps.

How do you know the 'angle' of the recording device (I assume you mean) changes from one amp to the other, since that definitely can not be seen in the video? I think your suggestion is absolutely basicaly correct, but all we can see is a lighting change between the two recordings, wich indicates he did not make them at the same time. The geometry of the speakers in relation to the camera appears extremely similar, if not identical, but we can not see the microphones in either.

@@williammiebach1798 He's insane. The snare and other percussion in the center on every track is perfectly centered on both amps. The only deviation I hear at all is the lead trumpet on Leroy being a bit to the right on the NAD, compared to the Nova. Besides that, someone that has shitty amateur sound quality on his YT channel has no right to criticize E, since his videos are a million times better than those joker's are.

@@DougMen1 When you don't hear the difference in the balance, you should go to your ear doctor. My videos are amateur videos, that's right. But they are serious. The different amps are recorded under the same parameters there. That's why they sound equal to each other. I know what I'm doing. Don't you see that the speakes in this video here changed their position? Then maybe you should visit your eye doctor also.

@@DougMen1 I didn't know Bjorn even had a channel, with either amateurish videos or good ones. His suggestion is sound, but not possible when the demo's are recorded at different times. For the most part I don't think any small changes in mic placement here is as responsible for the considerable difference in sound between the two pairings as the amps are themselves, but may be a small factor.
