Some people say they can't tell the difference but sounds like the sound deadening mat and poly fil gets you a full and rich sound while eliminating the high raspy notes. The sound quality isn't really Wranglers selling point, but with some elbow grease and some upgraded components, they can sound amazing.

That’s a lot of work to put the oem speakers back on. 🤔
@DumbCarGuy3 жыл бұрын
The point was to show the difference with the exact same speakers. I hope your better now.

Lol agressive much?
@redneck94chevy Жыл бұрын
It's a step process to show the difference of what the mat and poly fil can make on the same set of speakers. Throwing in higher quality speakers would been an unequal comparison in sound unless you started with the aftermarket speakers for your beginning comparison

I'm not sure if the JL/JT are improved from the JK but I think Jeep doesn't focus on sound quality much because that's not what people really buy wranglers for. That being said, there is aftermarket support for much better sound bars.

You think this could be mounted on a KJ? I got rid of my headliner awhile back so that parts outta the way

I'm honestly not sure. I have a 2005 Liberty Renegade that has been used on this channel quite a bit, but never thought about seeing if this would fit. Sorry I couldn't answer your question, but thanks for watching!

I used the GT Mat Quadro in the entire tub of my Suburban's cargo area and love how much they reduced exhaust noise! Too bad GT Mat is sold out of Quadro right now. I want to do my passenger area now that it's warming up again. I love GT Mat's products.

Awesome! Did you use ant poly-fil or anything? What speakers did you get?
@ezzak017 жыл бұрын
no sir I didn't. but I think the speakers are kenwood or kicker 6.5 and the screw in my 2016 is a T-15. must be a little different than yours I think. now just adding my amp for a little boost in performance.

I had the same problem with the light but I actually took my light apart and applied a thin layer of clear heat resistant silicone to any part that could vibrate. Worked like a champ I also some resonating from my spider web lying on top of the sound bar and that I was able to resolve by placing Dynamat Padding on the outside of the top of the sound bar.

I had the same issue and just put a small amount of electrical tape anywhere the plastic touched more plastic

Another helpful video. Even over my iPad speakers, I could hear a lot of difference. Am wondering if you had to adjust your fader after the install. I would think your “new” rear speakers would make the fronts sound puny and overpower them. Did it pose any problems like that?
@RockyXTV6 жыл бұрын
Not that I noticed, but you could tell that the rear speakers were filling in the sound more than the fronts, but not overpowering them. I didn't have it like this for long before doing the fronts and adding amps, and speakers, so I can't really speak for the long term. Thanks for watching!
@EGlideKid6 жыл бұрын
Rocky X TV I’ll be interested if you did a video of the fronts. Looks like I’m going to have to buy a shop manual for my JL in the meantime!

I've done the polyfill but not the mat. I want that stereo I just have the basic one. What do you have your settings on as far as bass and treble?
@RockyXTV7 жыл бұрын
Everything was set flat during the testing, all at 0. I think the Poly-fil works okay, but the sound deadening works great! It makes the plastic enclosures act and sound more like a sturdy wooden box. Thanks for checking it out man!
@TheBeardedJeeper7 жыл бұрын
Rocky X TV what do you have your stereo set to normally?
@RockyXTV7 жыл бұрын
Normally I had it set to +2 on the bass +3 on mids and 0 on highs. With the sound treatment and OE stuff it went to +1 bass, +4 mid and +1 high
@RockyXTV7 жыл бұрын
With the amp it has changed drastically, it's like -4 bass, +4 mid and -5 high. There's just so much more low and high I had to cut those and up the mid for the vocals to come through.

great video, thanks for doing this! i'm copying what you did, and i'm ordering materials now but I have 2 questions... did you only use 1sq foot total as stated or 1 per side of the sound bar? Also, I see you used 12 ounce polyfil is there a reason you didn't use 20 ounce? thanks again!
@RockyXTV6 жыл бұрын
It was just over 1 sq ft for the total soundbar. You could be a little light with it and get away with 1 sq ft for the soundbar. You can do the soundbar and the front speaker pods using the 5 sq ft kit and have some left over. I used the 12oz because that's what the hobby store had, they didn't have the 20, I can't say how much of a difference there would be with the 12 vs 20. Here is a link to my Amazon storefront where you can find different packs and types of sound deadener - www.amazon.com/shop/rockyxtv Just look under Automotive Audio and it will be below all the speakers. Thanks for watching!
@omlettedufromage85886 жыл бұрын
hey I really appreciate the reply! I ordered 10sqft of Quadro (12x12 squares) just in case. I had figured/guessed 1sqft for the horizontal area (cut to fit) and then 1sqft cut in half for the vertical sides (2, 6 inch strips). the excess material is just in case I goof up. thanks again!
