I've watched a lot of these mother videos, this is one of the most inventive. Great ideas; very inspiring.

I'm a big fan of Billy Cobham spectrum album wondering about the moog sample and hold devices. This video demonstrates how its more complicated and simple than I imagined. I know better how the effectiveness was achieved. Thanks for this informative video.

This is great, thanks! I’m just wondering: why use the self resonating filter and not feed the Assign output directly to the 1V/Oct of the oscillator?

Hi i just followed the tutorial but when i start the random cv thing after doing the shift reset set end 8 it only plays one tone the entire time. Am i doing something wrong? I saw that you referred in another comment to setting up sample and hold mode for the assign output but i couldn't find anything referring to sample and hold in the manual.

Can you input any signal into the filters? Like the old synths?

Mine doesent do this for some reason , whenever i try the first step e.g. patch cable in ext audio it dims the noise greatly but you can still slighlty hear it and it hasnt produced the resonated sine wave . It also tranposes when in the video yours does not. any help?

My complaint with Mother 32 is it is so lovely as soon as I got one I knew that another one would be so damn appealling. I want the dual rack and a couple of M32's. Not really a complaint at all then :-)

Is this better than Korg Ms20 mini along with SQ1 or no?I can buy only on of these so please some advices?
@savanaviolenta8 жыл бұрын
Thanks and I think you're absolutely right.Moog is a Moog and for that money they ask it's a no brainier.Yeah it really sounds fat and I'm going for the M32.I think the original MS20 is good,but that mini I think I'll be disappointed if I buy it.Im not saying it's bad,but that's how I feel it.
@nealburger8 жыл бұрын
T.I.N Mateus korgMs20 mini is a great synth. The ms 20 is a classic sound with its own character. It also has 2 oscillators and the filters are amazing. The 32 is also great and if you have to have a moog oscillator and ladder filter you can't get that at a better price. I would recommend both synths. Oh also the external signal processor on the ms20 is really cool.

is this as good as an o-Coast by make noise?
@graingerweston5637 жыл бұрын
they are completely different. Same amount of usability, but I prefer the way the Mother sounds. Higher quality oscillators and it has a proper filter and comes with a sequencer! I mean, c'mon, its a Moog... though I own and love both. If you already have an 0-coast, don't buy this until you are familiar with synthesis, unless you have the money lying around! If you are trying to decide between the two, go with the Mother.

Rishabh Rajan prolly the last 1/4 ov the process. haven't done it for a week or two. all I know is I followed ur instructions to the t over 20 times. nothing. is there a firmware update I don't know about?
@michaelmanning24747 жыл бұрын
Rishabh Rajan oh yeah. after shift/set end/ 8. I think I run into brain fart after that.
@rishabhrajan7 жыл бұрын
Not sure about firmware updates but its always good to do so. This video was created over a year ago so the firmware on this version is probably quite old. You may be doing the 'Assign' output wrong. Make sure to set that or you won't get the sample and hold signal.

The definition of a “MELODY” is: a sequence of single notes that is “MUSICALLY SATISFYING.” You might want to change the deceptive nature of the title. Thanks.
