Oh man and here I was thinking to get Polyend’s giant Sequencer but this is even better. 2x the fun- = Medusa Organ! 🥰

I like the anodize, but I prefer the original markings. The original design looked more like what it is: a collab between two incredible companies. The limited-edition design ethos is pure Polyend. Which is no doubt sexy, but maybe minimizes Dreadbox more than I'd prefer. I still want one. Imagine what I could do with two (2!) Medusas! Anyway, thanks, Miltos, for another excellent video! I'm still feeling out bass sounds on the Medusa, and this is a great help.

Thanks Kyle! I like the minimal style of the new one but the classic style is good too. Hardware wise (knobs, encoder, faders) I think the new one feels a bit better overall.

@@miltos_schima Love the new minimal one, but the older one works better on video, better readable... The black one might have a little too much contrast. Anywayz... Keep on using them both! :)

I'm happy I got the original and especially happy I didn't get the colored knobs!

Really on the fence about this unit. Your videos are the only ones that make it sound good, for some reason.

Thanks! Check also videos from SamiRabia, gattobus, Benn amd Gear and others. I think it's just a matter of devoting some time to learn the synth well and get good results.

I also think FunkTree and AlbaEcstasy have done some nice performances.

Ooh that limited looks pretty slick! AND a 3.0 firmware upgrade??? Didn't we just get 2.0?

You mention the knobs and faders feeling a bit better in another comment. I only briefly had my hands on the original Medusa a while back and the knobs felt weak and wobbly with very little resistance. Do you feel this has been improved? Could you do a quick video comparing the hardware differences of the two? Thanks!
@miltos_schima4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes between my two units the new one does have a bit heavier knobs. Their resistance is comparable to my komplete kontrol knobs which I find them spot-on, not too heavy, not too light. My old unit does have light knobs but I don't find them wobbly. The button-encoder (for the menu) is steadier indeed in the new unit. And it also has steps, something I prefer. Other than that the faders in the new one are protruding more and I think any other changes are of an aesthetic nature.

get my medusa yesterday! Question: is the bank B without presets? I only see the A with it!
@miltos_schima3 жыл бұрын
Well done! Yes, bank B is empty 👍

Does anybody have a video of doing the firmware update on the original Medusa? I've been attempting to do it but I must be doing something wrong. Thanks!
@prospectnyc4 жыл бұрын
How do you initialize a patch?
@miltos_schima4 жыл бұрын
To start from an init state I just use one of the available init patches from Bank B. Just make sure to have one available (for example B64) or you can reload Bank B with the Medusa tool if needed.

now I want a medusa, both versions look similar to me though

Internally both versions are the same 👍

Really wish they would have kept the original Medusa wordmark in the upper right. Even at half the size of the original it would have added that unique character. We’ve got enough Helvetica in this world.

This machine would have been a must buy for me if they had incuded a reverb and delay, instead I bought an MC707.
