I love how you encourage to explore using different techniques in the song. I feel like doing that makes playing these songs more fun and interesting, additionally it could be extremely important for people who are in bands and are sick of playing the same songs over and over again in gigs. This should really be emphasized more to musicians.

I had no idea the chords going on in the verse - and no idea how simple the chorus is. Fascinating. Do we know what Matt officially used on this, is the pitch shifting just a synth in the back or what?
@robhaley51367 ай бұрын
Matt used a digitech Whammy 4, pitch shifted by midi in much the same way. Unsure if they used logic or protools etc... or a dedicated sequencer for just doing that - heck, they would have had the team and the money for it! I am currently working out how to perform this live - not using a computer as it could, like, update mid set or Logic could say 'CPU overload'... it's just bound to go wrong on the night isn't it. I got a 'Riff Step' from the US. Limited to 16 steps so I've got some challenges ahead in terms of controlling it with my ES-5 (Harry has an ES-8 switcher) - the guy who makes the pedals hasn't explained what midi 'program change' commands relate to which preset... tearing my hair out... but once sorted, I'll be able to switch between the normal riff and the inversion, and do it all live without the need for a computer. Everything for it fits on the pedalboard and stays there!

Love these videos and covers, you should do more niche and less known muse songs like early b-sides and stuff

I would really like a step by step guide of how to input the pitch shifting in logic please

How do you switch sequences? And how do you get them to repeat or change?

Are midi controllers capable of sending tbe midi sequence to the whammy, ao yhat you wouldnt need to be connected to a computer?
@Trootsbloxplayzthemetalfan2 ай бұрын
You can kinda do this with a Molten MIDI but it works best in Logic Pro

Do you have sheet music or tabs for your version (played in this video) of the song?

Why do you always use Whammy, in the original sound and on stage Matt never used Whammy for this song, he uses a Nord Modular G2
@muscle_museum10 ай бұрын
Anyone trying to recreate the MoP sound is missing something, there is no authenticity, and it sounds hollow, lacking the keyboard effect just because many use Whammy
@harrychrisrobin10 ай бұрын
simple, I don't have a Nord Modular G2. I can do a good sound with the whammy which is a much more accessable product and more useful for guitarists to do pitch shifting used in Muse, Rage Against the Machine, Royal Blood, Radiohead and many more bands

@@muscle_museumyour average or even upper end cover artist isn't gonna have the same access to certain affects, mods and quality of product a professional band who's made millions of pounds and has a budget for musical equipment you can buy a house with on hand for their KZbin videos😂 that's why
