Oh my goodness! I was 17 when Caroline was released... I have neglected the Quo for way too long. I just spent half an hour in KZbin rock-heaven watching videos from 1973 to 2017. Back in the day it wasn't very cool to admit you liked the Quo with stuff like Yes, Bowie, ELP and Soft Machine in the mix. Now I'm open to pretty much everything, and wow, what a fantastic, pure and punchy rock sound. Just some of the best riffs ever, and great vocal harmonies to boot. Thanks for stirring up memories of that 6th-form party where I met someone special ;)
@mariodriessen97405 жыл бұрын
I love Bowie and I Love Soft Machine. I listened to Yes a lot (ELP not so much - these things can happen). But my joy of listening to music for hours and hours in a row started when I was ten years old and my mom let me choose my first album. First I wanted a Sweet album, 'cos that's what I listened to since I was 5 years old, but I bought Rockin' all over the world'. After that I bought nothing but Status Quo for a looooong time. I don't listen to the old albums as much as I used to, but still, everytime I hear the opening of their first live album, I can't help but being happy and feeling energetic. Man, I was addicted to the Quo.
@PhilbyFavourites5 жыл бұрын
@Mark JT: Priceless. I had to Google the exact release date ‘73 (that made me 14 - we weren’t at the same 6th form parties...) but I reckon somewhere in the past you had an RAF greatcoat and an obscure album under your arm 😎😎😎 In the 70’s My mate John subjected me to Yes, ELP and that bloody awful King Crimson record. All I wanted was emotion lifting Quo rock. Thank you to Andertons for pulling me back into the best era for music ever. It'll be on the Apple CarPlay later today under the “Ahh the ‘70s Playlist”.

@ Mark JT. Back in the day it wasn't very cool if you liked Quo?? OK, I was around 12 or 13 in NZ when Caroline was released and remember hearing it for the first in a record store on headphones at full blast. Totally euphoric moment. My older brother intro'd me to Quo during Piledriver the year before and I was totally obsessed and let everyone know that. I actually lost interest in the band after In the Army Now came out in 1986. In their latter years You would see middle aged men over 50 bringing blow up guitars to their gigs and embarrassing themselves like the cliche uncles dancing at their nieces weddings. I think it's not very cool to admit you ARE a Quo fan in today's climate tbh.

The object of the video is to sell gear (obviously) but I don't understand why people with 'proper' amps need pedals. I'm getting old, but, 'too loud' is such snowflake horseshit. Yes, there is such a thing as too loud, as personified by every low rent gig you attend having no idea that after a certain point PA's turn to white noise and carrying on regardless. You know the ones, where you can't hear anything the singer is saying and the guitar channel sounds like a hairdryer set low. But. Any home player can tell you that if you run 20 or 30 watts in to a 2x12 or a 4x12 and push the power tubes by turning the master up to around 1/2 way, you 'plateau' in awesome tone around 90db. Which is only too loud if you stand right in front of it. Off-axis its absolutely fine. I do not have hearing loss or tinnitus after 30 years .. !

Rocking all over the world was written by John Fogerty of CCR .Quo covered it .❤❤Rossi’s green tele was originally sunburst .then he stripped it ,turned it black didn’t like it stripped it and painted it with Ronseal green wood paint /stain ,only did the front as he had to put it back together to gig it .so he never did the back .that’s why the back is still bare wood .and the edges are still black ..fun fact for you .❤❤

I have a ‘79 25th Anniversary Strat that spent most of its life bouncing around the Caribbean as a house beater guitar in dive bar open jams that is thoroughly worn in and it has grime built around the frets just like on the custom shop that Rabea is playing. Of all the days, today Frame just sold his original Tele in an auction. It's so hard to sound like Status Quo now unless you spend an absolute fortune and get VOX's, Marshals and Tele's from the 60's cause the newer stuff just isn't the same. Then there is the matter of all the tweaks done to both tele's, not original picks ups or bridges, the size of the strings Rick used. Very tough job but you guys gave it a good go. Nice!! P.S. Awesome rigs, those are some beautiful teles right there! One can only dream of this kind of gear. As far as sounding like Status Quo goes, you did quite well.
