Thank you for these! I bought my guzheng from Sound of China last year. The old videos were OK, but these have better explanation 😊

Can you please give me some advice on the tuning? I'd like to know about the optimum distance between the movable bridges? How do you avoid tearing strings when putting on new strings?
@SoundofChinaGuzheng2 ай бұрын
@@hans-peterkolb8481 yes, you can remove the bridge first before tightening the string. I have another video on tuning the guzheng. You can search it on the KZbin.

My uncle had a Guzheng and I’m learning with your videos. Question: What do you mean by duds? I really may be brain dead :(
@SoundofChinaGuzheng2 жыл бұрын
dots? That's part of the simplified notation scores. You will need the textbook to accompany these videos.

She meant dots and or dot depending on the octave the note is at. So in western classical music the octave symbol looks like 8va written on sheet music because of the limited space when there’s a part they want you to play octave above. Octave just means you’re playing the same note in the next octave above or below the written note. Like for example on a keyboard 🎹 the middle note C. The next octave in the note c is the next higher pitch c. Depends it could be 2 octave higher to or 3 or 4. 😂 but in GuZheng just one octave 😅
