Julie Andrews acts, talks, sits like a queen. I thought that was only in Princess Diaries but this is actually her real character. I love that.

Oh how I wish that personal grace and polish could come back into our world. It is sorely missed and DESPERATELY needed. " Dignified friendly " is a characteristic I strive for everyday. My Mum knew Julie well, Mum passed at 87 on 5th May, 2016. Her Dad, my late Granddad Phil Robertson, used to write music scores for his protege' Julie Andrews, in Manchester. He was a celebrated composer way back then, lost his 3 older brothers in WW1 in France, he was too young to go to war. I have seen SOM more than 200 times, whenever I am sad or down, I put this wonderful film on, we have every re-issue ever made since the VHS tapes of old. My wife says "Not Again".... I loved Liesl / Charmian. I was only 8 years old in 1965 when we went to see the film at The Adelphi Theatre in Slough (Greater London). Julie was so beautiful, but Charmian was forever my heartthrob! Was devastated when she passed at such a young age....

It's a great pleasure to see these guys today. The Sound of Mudic is my favorite movie ever. I never miss an opportunity to resee it. Now I am 58 and still remember the first time I saw It as a little boy down in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. Kisses to the Von Trapp family.

Great movie and fantastic music! It was not until I was an adult I found out the real story was much less dramatic than the movie portrayed. For instance, the family left on a train, with everybody in the village wishing them good luck. But there were some true elements as well, so what the heck? Thank you for posting!
