Hey, I’ve just used the Dodo dead mat hex around my defender and I’m going to overlay the super liner for insulation, any tips on the super liner? I’ve also got the Exmoor Trim Carpet Set, did you have to cut around the hand brake and what about the rear seats?

For the super liner my advice would be to push it in to the space you’re fitting and cut it into shape with a blade. Only do small sections at a time as it’s really sticky and the foam Comes apart when you stick it and have to pull a bit off. The super liner is great as it’s very flexible to fit around everything. The exmoor trim set is pre cut for the hand brake and the other parts - lay it all out first before you start sticking. You’ll notice with the super liner does mean the carpet won’t fit completely flush in areas but it’s not an issue. I used the super liner a lot on the gearbox tunnel. Rear seat wise I have bought some generic carpet set to fit so not sure how the exmoor one fits

Will do one soon! It cost around £500 to do the whole defender. However for the back I just bought 3 way stretch van carpet rather than the cut carpet as I felt it was quite easy to fit in being so square

Hi Richard it was silent coat and dodo matting super liner - I would get more silent coat that you think you need.

Hello thanks for the video. I’m using the same sound deadening kit and also exmoor trim carpets. How did you find the fit of the exmoor trim noting they reference they cannot guarantee they fit on top of sound deadening systems. Assume you had no problem. Thanks so much 👍🏻👍🏻

Hey- yes no real problem but I did find I had to trim a bit off at the seat corners to fit tightly. And where the footwell wraps round to the door you will have some excess. It’s not a problem though and still looks great- hope that helps

How effective was it....and how much did you pay for those Exmoor trim items

To be fair it’s made a big difference to general driving around town- I haven’t finished the back yet so hard to tell the full effect. I’m laying some really good 6mm rubber matting on the back first which should help. Now it’s all carpeted in the front it’s taken the vibration and road noise away so you can actually have a conversation with the passenger now! Exmoor trim carpet set was about £300 and seats are around £900 (but to be honest I’m not so keen on the LAND ROVER print so may be selling)
