I actually DJ with these. I find them to be great for what I do. I just wonder what a good subwoofer would be to run with them? I'm sure a lot of higher priced DJ's with high priced stuff would fall on the floor laughing at my speakers and lights(seriously I use velcro and little party lights LOL), but I always get compliments about how awesome I am. I'm more about the music than the tech stuff so I'm still learning about the tech end of things.

The Bluetooth function only works if your input is a Bluetooth device. Bluetooth pairing won’t play from both speakers if you are using a line input.

You are correct. these are junk. Altec as a company died in 1999. Since then the brand has been sold multiple times.

i like your format and clarity of how you go about your reviews i am in the United States and i would love to see a review on the made in China 2500 5 channel Amplifier Receivers with Bluetooth and Karaoke capability those things are on Alibaba and all over Ebay under several names at some pretty reasonably priced numbers at first impression it appears to be too good of a value for the price and i really like to know if they are worth picking up your reviews. to me are good because you do. give some Specs without getting too Goofy like many other channels do i like good sound but i’m not by any stretch of the imagination a Electrical Engineer just a 57 year old guy that has played musical instruments and still enjoys. Analog Equipment from the 1970s , and 80s Unfortunately most of my Vintage Equipment now needs. replacing and of course i like wireless volume and connectivity like Bluetooth that also has some Simplicity and Semi Clean ways of hooking up and playing things like digital playlists , Pandora ,etc Why ? Mama doesn’t like too many instructions to listen to music and it’s part of my job to keep her happy

I like mine a lot, I have a complaint only about the bluetooth. When I connect to Bluetooth, after 30 minutes it disconnects by itself, I thought it was my cell phone, I tested it on other devices and the same happens 😕

I just bought a second gemini 2200 (same thing as this) and I can't link them together via Bluetooth. I also noticed the layout is slightly different between the two. Daily chaining with a XRL works but I also noticed the newer one isn't as loud or have the same bass output. Any suggestions?

Yes. Or 4 or 8. They have XLR in and out.

Basically, one of these speakers is a master and the rest become slaves on the Bluetooth link. If they did it right, 1st speaker is the master, 2nd is the 1st slave then 3rd would be the 2nd slave and so on. So they should be chainable with the Bluetooth but if not, you could run as many linked together as you want with the XLR Pass Throughs.

Yes! If you do bluetooth you can run to one speaker and then it links to the other via bluetooth. Your laptop can not bluetooth to 2 devices at once so the fact that the speakers sync up together is nice. If you are hooking them up via cables you can run a cable into one, and then run the XLR out cable into the XLR input into the other.

They have been good speakers for me. I added 2 12 inch subs to the mix late last year too. I send cables into the subs then up to the altecs on top.
