I have a similar setup with my wireless IEM in top of rack with wifi setting on top. I get a ALOT of clicking noise when I turn the router on. Any suggesstions? I have had to go back to the internal router for now.

Great Video but If you set your Ui to manual rather than DHCP, surely you should set the IP address OUTSIDE the DHCP range on your router?

Hi. I've managed so far only with the iPad connected to the built-in hotspot and no problem, but I'd like to have options in case of emergency. An Ethernet cable and an adapter RJ45 to iPad could do?

I wish it worked for me like other commenters, I do like the way you made the video - brief and to the point - but I spent the last 2 hours following your instructions to a tee and it still doesn't work. Keeps freezing in the middle of set-up, as if I'm doing something wrong. Using a newer Netgear router, and I even tried factory reseting the router. I have the UI24 with an iPad 6. So frustrating. This UI24 is a headache! Worked for years for me, but once in a while it had connection problems (which is a nightmare during a show!) Now the connection problems are becoming more frequent so I thought I'd try this. Oy...

Does it matter what kind of Ethernet cable one uses? I have a non-shielded it CAT5 cable and I’m unsure if that will work for all environments or if I should go pick up a shielded one?

I have the router plugged into the LAN slot and to the board, but I can't get into the router from laptop or tablet? is there a work around?

Are you connected to the routers network when you’re trying? I found that sometimes your laptop can jump back over to the mixers wifi network without notice which is why we disable it once setup is complete. Do you know for sure what the IP address of the router is too? Double check your routers manual to see as they vary.

@@smabacon yes I’m on the correct network, it has the name and says No Internet, Secured. And I have the correct IP address . But it won’t open to the router on my laptop The router is plugged into the LAN port and the Soundcraft U24 port

Followed the guide, took screen shots of the IP address of the mixer etc and i can't get it to connect to the mixer. no idea why. Now I need to figure out how I can revert to the original network settings so I can actually connect to the mixer

I figured it out. I had stupidly left the IP address as it was for the mixer and it was outside the start-end range on the router. I tried to change the range on the router (as I had lost communication with the mixer) and it couldn't be changed as the IP address wasn't in that range. I ended up connecting it to my TV with a HDMI cable and changing the settings through that with a USB mouse. Tested, all ok

@@modland What's a "start-end range" on the router? I didn't see that. I am having a similar problem to what you're saying. I remember something about a "range" being mentioned in the vid, but there's not enough explanation (for us non I.T. guys).

I stopped using my Ui12 because of the connection issues. It would only stay connected if it was hard wired. Neither the hotspot or an external router would stay connected.

Make sure your hotspot and WiFi settings in the software are disabled.

how does it decide if its using 2g or 5g?

The router will be broadcasting both a 2.4ghz and a 5Ghz network. You can connect to whichever network you like.

It is also possible to connect directly to laptop or iPad via Ethernet, if you don’t need the wireless functionality. Doesn’t have to go via a router.
