I love Soundgarden's earlier stuff and the raw energy & riffs they had, hearing former members and their styles collaborated with young Kim and Chris who were still developing as musicians, it was reminiscent of idols they were influenced by.

I don't want to sound "racial", but just like many, many white folks, like the Beastie Boys, liked rap and hip-hop, which was of course originally an exclusively black type of music, and incorporated themselves into it and made a huge name of themselves in this genre, I like when I see black people like so much "white" rock music like grunge. It really shows that music has no racial boundaries and that it's universal. Sometimes I have the impression that almost all black people, especially of today, listen to R'n'B and all that popular stuff by black artists, so when I see a comment like yours from someone like you, it makes me very happy! I'm a white guy, and not even American (Greek), but one of my favorite things in music is '60s songs from black female singers, like Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin (with whom I share the same birthday -different years though! :p-), and so many others. But speaking about grunge, let's not forget who was the biggest inspiration for them all... The one and only, the great, Jimi Hendrix. It's quite "ironic" that this so white genre of rock, owes almost everything to a black guitarist (the best of all times, hands down) who existed 20 years prior the huge popularity of it. So it's absolutely no random that Morten mentioned Hendrix among her favorite grunge bands by the end of this video. I was a teenager in the '90s when grunge was at its super prime, and Hendrix was very popular, 2 decades after his death. We were listening to grunge, and we were listening to Hendrix (and of course Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and all those legendary bands that also had a huge impact to grunge).
