Yeah, that generated a lot of questions. That's the old I-134 form, as you likely saw. ~Greg

So I-864 will be filed after getting married on a K-1 visa? So potentially if you're getting married between two tax years you could file an I-134 for the K1 visa with different tax information than the secondary I-864 after getting married when applying for change of status if the tax year is different 90 days later? (and different poverty guideline for the next year)

The I-134 is filed at the K-1 visa stage; the I-864 is required after you get married and file for the green card within the USA. ~Greg

@@Soundimmigrationlaw But if a K1 visa is approved in December, then you file for a change of status for a Green Card in February AFTER filing taxes for the next year. Then the two would be using information from different tax years?

Amazing information in this channel. Just won a subscriber. I have a friend who wants to sponsor me through a humanitarian parole. I'm Venezuelan. She is worried about liabilities that she might have as a sponsor specially when it comes the form I-134. Do you have any resources for me to research this? I have checked the uscis website but nothing explicit about liabilities and Responsabilities for sponsors. Thank you very much.

Thanks for the kudos. Here's a blog post on the issue. www.soundimmigration.com/no-uniting-for-ukraine-sponsors-cannot-be-sued-under-the-i-134-affidavit-of-support/
