I’m afraid that foam will deteriorate quick in the Florida heat. I may give it a try, though. They do echo and amplify any sound made in them, for sure.

Great video. Have you found the foam to be a success for sound deadening and heat retention? Have any panels fallen down and required additional adhesive?

Thanks. Yes the foam definitely knocks down the echo and clunk sounds if I hit the sides with the chair legs etc. Not to sure if it helps with heat retention because I run buddy heaters inside. None of the foam has fallen off yet! I really expected it to but it hanging on.

How sturdy is the floor? Is it braced or lined with something heavier than just the same material as the sides? Im 300lbs and just bought 52ac and wanna build some shacks but if this is stout enough for longtime fat boy use...this is the easier and possibly cheaper overall way to go. Good videos by the way. I’ve watched em all about your shacks

Bryan Carr Thanks for watching. The floor kinda sucks. It’s just the plastic the sides are made of with small bolts thru to the frame underneath. It’s bouncy when stepping in between the frame. I actually thought about cutting a piece of plywood to put inside then replace the bolts with longer ones with larger heads to hold together. The blinds are fine so far, nothing to rot is what I was looking for.

Do your windows open inward? Is that something you did after getting it? I thought all the windows open outward.

Yes, these windows open inward. This is the SC4 model. All the other ones open outward.

Do all the sc4 windows open in with piano hinges

The 3 main windows are real glass and open out, the door window is plastic and opens in

The stick on egg foam did really well. I’m surprised how it’s still stuck on the walls thru extreme weather. These blinds are one piece plastic, very waterproof. Maybe that helps. I put some of the foam in every one of my blinds, it’s a must. ANYTHING that hits the plastic walls without it makes a load sound. It took away the echo inside also. I need to purchase a lot more to finish the blind but the rolls are so expensive now. It’s definitely worth using.

Do you use a heater in the blind also? I've noticed my blind sweats like a fat boy at a buffet when running a heater

Yes. We use heaters but always have one window open when heaters are on. The blind will sweat but not that bad

Yea, I’d have to stand back away from the window. The angle of the shot to the ground is really limited because it has regular windows. It could be done, with a few practice shots to know where the best angle would be.
