I am an MPC empresario! I never thought I would ever switch, yet the conundrum that I have with computer/laptop based systems is that Native Instruments has totally swept the floor with this genre. I love my MPC2000 and ASR-10. I currently use imaschine and the midi controller MK2 hardware platform and I'm really satisfied as a hip-hop producer. In my opinion both companies should link up together.

Does it make more sense to drag to duplicate, or drag to trade places? Right now on iMPC its drag to copy. That makes reordering your pads kind of a hassle. What is the use-case for drag to duplicate? Is it better for sound editing or something??

Interesting question - often, you want to clone a sample across several pads in order to trim to different cue points.

This looks great. Search ftw! Automatic categories is a really great idea as well. Can users create their own banks/categories (or rename the 'user bank 1'...)? Same question as everyone else re: deleting. Possible from within the app? Not only for sounds that come with the app that a user doesn't need but if I pull in 2 minutes of audio and destructively edit it, I want to be able to get rid of the original.

in sound mode when your building a sound program you cannot remove a sound from the pad without deleting the sound from the iPad or u have to start over with an empty program so i can not drag-n-drop to trash with out deleting the sound from the iPad ( can u fix this or tell me what I'm doing wrong) thanks for all the hard work on this app

Yes, when you make/import a sample, it automatically goes in a sound bank. You can move any sound to any sound bank you want.

Is it possible to delete samples from My Sounds folder? I did some Audiopaste through the audiocopy in Tabletop IMPC but the sound was very low. I want to delete these samples but the Tabletop does not allow me to delete the My Sound samples. I do not understand why. This leaves me very frustrated. In IMPC PRO LOG is possible to delete samples from the My Sounds folder?

The same for me, there seems to be no way to erase the recorded samples. But i will not going to buy a bigger ipad, lol. I also dont know why they are making that. Auidio inter app in impc also does not work but they wont make an update for the impc users.

In Tabletop and iMPC, you can delete samples through iTunes: Connect your iPad to your computer, navigate to the "apps" tab, scroll down to File Sharing, select the app in question, and then you can select and delete samples.

Newbie Question: When I have an existing program with samples on the A bank, how can I sample a new source and have the breaks chopped up on the B and C banks? Currently when I do this, it overwrites the A bank. Thanks for any help/insight...

Hello, i got a question to first original iMPC. The inter app audio implementation is not working. Everytime you want to record an app to the beat, the iMPC stops, so the IAA is absolutely useless. Will there be an update for fixing that ? It would be nice, because thats so important. I would like to run both, iMPC Pro and iMPC in tabletop which is great. But without the ability to record in original iMPC via IAA i think that machine would stay in corner and instaed of that using the Pro twice in TT. But, i am a man with feelings and it would make me sad to see iMPC unused and getting dust on it, because the Pro brakes it in funktionality. You would make me happy to see that and : Thanks for that great work, you are doing what i am waiting for for years.

This is good, but for future update I think it's better if you add the ability to delete one sample and add a folder if I need... But this don't change my opinion that this is my best DAW for make my kind of workflow...I can't wait to buy it :-)

I'm having a problem with importing sounds via itunes transfer. It works fine with impc but not with impc pro. In itunes, it shows that they are added, but they dont show up in the app. Actually, I just noticed that you didnt even mention it in this video. You kinda skimmed over it. Is there a solution on the nearby horizon?

Kingjust22 to import your own drum sounds you have to take them out off the folder they are in. You can't just drag and drop the whole folder. It's stupid but that's how I put my drums in the "itunes file transfer bank" 637 sounds and counting...

I remember i was in itunes and tried there to erase samples but there were only options to save to pc ( a copy of it ) or put to tabletop, missing badly a way to erase them, but i will try it again later, i hope you are right. It would be great to erase them direct via ipad without connection to itunes. I am glad to hear that there are no limitations in the impc pro, good and nice news.

I was able to load my own sound kit into iMPC Pro Via iFUNBOX now I have my sound kit from a several sound kit that i have on my fruityloops. Loaded them right into users bank folder really nice now I have my own sound kit.

Retronyms Layering with different velocity sensitivities FX sens per level LFOs etc would make this app NEXT LEVEL. Especially for people who don't use the sequencer and do all their playing as live fingerdrummers. Easy layering is one of the reasons I still prefer my MPC1000 with JJOS to my NI maschine.

Unfortunately you can't go directly between Google Drive app and AudioCopy. Hey JP. Here's my issue. When I add my own sounds & samples to this App using ITUNES. It doesn't allow me to use folders. I'm only able to add the sound files. So when I look for my sounds in the App I get 1 long list of sounds. It's all about file management and if it's not a possible to use folders that would be a mess. Is this a apple issue? Also I erased all the sounds I put in my IPAD with Itunes and they're still in the App. I know how to erase them 1 by 1 in the App but that's a waste of time. So back to square 1, If I could add folders of sounds I would easily able to erase folders of sounds in ITUNES or in the App. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

***** Any Idea why Itunes is creating a duplicate folder with 0 kb in it. Above the new folder with my sounds I created. I didn't change the folder name or anything everything is the same. When I open IMPC the "MY SOUNDS" Folder has nothing in it. I have tried to delete the empty folder and that works but it comes back up when I open IMPC. Frustrating haha Mac has the wackest file management system. Hate having to use Itunes to do any of this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why does retronyms never anwser the question of deleting my bad samples, why are there only replys , when they can say " yes, its able to do. Dont know how much time i asked, if impc pro will be limited in tabletop like impc is, you know, no effects, just one track. But really, the possibility to erase my bad samples must be implementated somewhere. Please retronyms, answer me in a good way. Do we get the possibility to erase or not and is the impc pro limited like the impc is when running in tabletop?

Sorry! We don't catch every question. I'll try to answer them now: iMPC Pro in Tabletop has it's whole effects engine plus the mixer, so it's not limited in that way. It uses Tabletop's sequencer of course. In Tabletop and iMPC, you can delete samples through iTunes: Connect your iPad to your computer, navigate to the "apps" tab, scroll down to File Sharing, select the app in question, and then you can select and delete samples.

I like this app, but there are many problems with organisations of sounds once you have imported sound from I tunes,1 long list of sound, you can't put them in there own folders,if you could just drag and drop the sounds in different folders and better file management, please take into account that all of us that has bought this app,just want it to work like a proper Mpc and have a good work flow, thanks........

Please say we can erase the demo projects to save some space. And wait- the app categorizes our own sounds FOR US? Let me be the first of many to complain about this function, which is destined to be a source of confusion and frustration…..I support Akai and I really really hope this app lives up to the hype, but it's already looking like it doesn't measure up to Beatmaker 2 as far as creative freedom and possibilities. No Audiobus (which functions 10 times as smoothly as inter-app audio!), and only 4 pad banks instead of 8 are big holes to dig yourself out of right off the bat.

alecsbuga Having 8 pad banks can give you many more options than having 4. I want to be the one who decides whether my own methods are counterintuitive or not. I don't want to let app designers to make that decision for me via limitations in their program.

Please … how do you delete user sounds????? I've sampled and I've pasted and I've generally created some files that are crappy and I want to delete them … seems a like a reasonable request. I would also like to name the files I've pasted in instead of having a bunch of files titled '"general pasteboard". The only way I've figured out how to do it is through ifunbox … there's got to be a way to do it inside the app … why so hard to figure out??? I'm frustrated by this enough to dump the app and leave a 1 star review in iTunes … come on … please. Thanks!

You can rename sounds in the "edit" view (with the waveform). You can delete sounds by connecting to iTunes and using iTunes File Transfer. We've seen a ton of requests for in-app sound deleting, so we're adding that in an update soon. Thanks!

If there will be still missing the function to erase samples ( you can not delete any of your made samples, no matter how they are usefull or not ) i will erase tabletop. Because tabletop is taken every soundfile, puts it into tabletop and makes it there standing, not to delete.

I just purchased this app and it has been highly disappointing! When are you guys going to fix all the bug problems? For $13.00, the consumer deserves a better product. The tutorials lure people in, but it's like a trap. Most of us are serious about beat making, but this app is one of the worst. No one at Retronyms seem to care about fixing all the bugs on this app. This has been a exercise in frustration using this app.
