Watching this in 2021, and Mathas’ work still stands strong. Very much enjoy his ST style. What hasn’t worked from the start is EE playing as vice-storyteller throughout the series. His constant meta-gaming ensures that only the strongest PLAYERS will be able to have voices and develop their characters. I am confident Mathas’ story would be richer if it were not taking place on the “EE Show.”

@@1Lanavis1 I can definitely see EE is being prominent and his abilities definitely lean towards that with him being an "I drink people and know things" build. However, I don't really see it as 'The EE show" since he's quite happy to sit back and be silent when he's not in the scene (unless it's a rules question at which point everyone, including him, bring out the hardcover rulebooks to check).

For those who don’t know Beckett is a Gangrel Noddist scholar. He seems to be a very prominent character and also appeared in the game Vampire the masquerade bloodlines.

I might be wrong, but I think he is original from the game, and was later used on novels and other materials, same as the twins and some others. The game is part of official canon.

FYI, most US fire stations do not have cameras inside common areas and bunk areas. There are frequently cameras in the bays to watch over expensive equipment, gasoline, etc. Too many firefighters would bridle at the babysitter. If they are present, they'd have to be very well hidden; we spend lots of hours in this place and would likely notice almost any change.

While I'm not from the Us, the only other places I've seen public phones have been inside courthouse lobbies. I assume you might also find phones inside police precincts but that's not somewhere I have ever visited. That all being said, do you guys still have internet cafes in the US? I haven't seen one where I live in around a decade or more. Then again, we also don't have caps on home internet and phone plans tend to not cost an arm and a leg like they do in the US...

For the lasombra powers they have merged obtenebration with necromancy and you can find it in the Chicago by night book. There is nothing on viscissitude yet you will have to homebrew it

Hey Ava finally got to do some art, even if it technically is a "home" video. . Hey we actually completed a quest line. . Yep that is the thing about gangrel, shitty kindred parents, but once you find a pack/club their rather loyal and forgiving. . Ollie seems to be stuck at an adolescent level of development. He comes off as a regular, blue-collar guy, but his field of vision and array of emotional options is so limited. He has these grand feels about freedom and complains about being boxed-in, but like all bullies, he only likes his rules. I feel flummoxed with him and Ava. Neither show capacity for curiosity, critical thinking, or self-direction. On the other hand, they both have such BIG FEELS! Those around them waste enormous time helping them solve problems or self-regulate.

And he keep lording over the other about being straight shooter and truthful, and when it's his family on the line and not others the first thing he did is lie just like the rest of them. And the whole part talking down to zach about being truthful while omitting the truth in the relationship, like isn't that exactly what zach is trying to do all this time?? except he did it poorly so everyone keep pressuring him for more while people just let ollie off with a passing glance.

Mathas is a really good ST, with a impressive set of skills. I just dont like the way he uses his role to force the PCs to do what he wants. That single attitude dimishes the quality of his narrative.
