This vid gave a bitter feeling of neither knowing the majority of the words in the video nor being able to pronounce them, daaamn, this shit is way too advanced for me lol (exactly what I've been looking for, I love challenges)! I give you props guys!

+First Last 😄Judging by your English in this comment, we find it hard to believe you didn't know the majority of words in this video.😉 To be honest, we don't know all of them either (just kidding). 😂 In any case, you don't have to know all of them, it's important that you practice their pronunciation. :).

Hello, the sound /æ/ in the word fan /fæn/ i think not changed when followed by n sound. but for the word fang /fæŋ/ is the sound /æ/ changed a little bit to /ɛ/ sound as in pet /pɛt/ or to /eɪ/ as in cake noun /keɪk/ when followed by /ŋ/ . Thank you.
@SoundsAmerican3 жыл бұрын
Hello there, The letter 'A' represents the /æ/ sound in "fan" and "fang." Since it's followed by the nasal sounds /n/ and /ŋ/, it's nasalized. The difference you hear is from the nasalization, but it's still the same sound. When you pronounce those words or the similar ones, don't replace the /æ/ sound with /ɛ/ or /eɪ/. Hope it helps!

your videos are great and really helpful for english learners like me. could you make video for /dʒ/ or /ʒ/ sound? In korean, those sounds do not exist. So it is very hard for me to pronounce those sounds. thanks!!

+김형래 thank you for your suggestion! Yes, we'll make videos for those sounds too!

I want to be sure about the words like ringing is the first ng consonant pronouncing as n consonant? please I am very confused from several days about that subject and if not how can we pronounce the two ng consonant very smooth because if we pronounce the two ng consonant the g consonant appears involuntarily. thanks alot
@SoundsAmerican7 жыл бұрын
+عبدالله محمود البنا, first of all, in the words like "ringing", both the first and the second /ŋ/ (ng) consonants pronounced as /ŋ/. Second, the /g/ sound in the second /ŋ/ shouldn't be pronounced :). Pronouncing the /g/ in the /ŋ/ sound is a common mistake and that's exactly why we've made this advanced exercise :). You can fix this with lots of practice! Tip: start with a "shorter" word that ends with the /ŋ/ sound: "sing". Then pronounce "sing" and add one more /ŋ/ after a short pause: "sing" - pause - /ŋ/. Next pronounce the "sing" and add (slowly!) " - ing" after a pause: "sing" - pause - " -ing". We recommend spending a lot of time on each step. It will work!

If we add the letter s as in songs will we pronounce the letter g or dropped it also if we add er as in singer we don't pronounce "g " ??

Thank you for great explanation... I can easily pronounce that sound in any word but It is so hard for me to link the word ending with that sound in the sentence... I mean moving from that sound to the next sound in the beginning of next word in the sentence.. I wish you understood my mean!
@SoundsAmerican6 жыл бұрын
+Hope Vs Despair Yes, we know it's difficult, but you can do it! We suggest starting slowly when moving from this sound into the sound at the beginning of the next word. Practice this over and over, and it should begin to feel more natural. It's important because in English many words end with the 'ng' sound. We know you can do it! 😄🖖
