I think it's something they built to show what Bela is capable of. I'm sure it has an accelerometer inside of it (which I'll be making a video about veeery soon!).

Nice!!! The instrument im building is primarily based on an accelerometer (i posted on the subreddit some time ago)

@@SoundSimulator I submitted the prototype to a makers space gallery at my university and got accepted. The final project will be a public interactive installation where people can actually play the instrument and explore different patches along with manipulating visuals through GEM. I took a lot of inspiration from your design philosophies so thank you for taking me down this crazy rabbit hole! Hmu if you're interested in the full proposal during your deep dive into accelerometers!

@@Azec6Official That's amazing!! Congrats, Adam!! Please do document the installation! I would love to see a documentation video of it! And yes, feel free to message me about the approach you took with the sensor!

Thanks for this tutorial. Which version of Pure Data did you use? You know if there is a way to communicate Vanilla with Arduino? Thanks!

I've recreated this in PD but I'm trying to cut ties with my laptop for performance and want to reduce costs in general so Bela and Daisy are out of the question. Have you tried implementing this or something like it with Mozzi?
@Sevetamryn
@Sevetamryn 2 жыл бұрын
does you PD run an ardurno? Or is the arduino just the ribon midi controller?
@SoundSimulator
@SoundSimulator 2 жыл бұрын
Arduino is used for sending the ribbon controller data to Pure Data that's running on my laptop. If you use something like Bela or Daisy that I mention later in the video, you can have Pure Data running inside of it and also control the synth with the ribbon controller in a more direct way. Then you can either have a speaker connected directly or you can plug into a guitar amp for example.

@@SoundSimulator Your Videos are very informative, so thank you. I wanted to ask a question regarding Pure Data. Pure data uses blocks to achieve different sounds, but i saw some Pure data repositories on github, and they are line of codes not blocks, so how can i import those lines of code to work on pure data ?
@SoundSimulator
@SoundSimulator 2 жыл бұрын
@@hashemamer8515 Thank you for watching! I think you can copy the text and when you paste it in Pure Data, it shows up as object blocks. At least that's how it is in Max. Give that a try and see if it works!
@hashemamer8515
@hashemamer8515 2 жыл бұрын
@@SoundSimulator The reason why i saw the lines of code in github is because i opened the project files inside of github, which i think is kind of silly on my behalf 😅, but when i downloaded the zip file and extracted it, i can open a Pure data file that has all the pre-built blocks inside. Thank you for getting back to me.
@speedwolf

@@hashemamer8515 PD Patches are just txt files under the hood. That's what makes them ideal for storage on places like GitHub.

@@SoundSimulator thank you. I'm trying to warp my head around using plug data but all the documentation is for pure data, which i get, plug is wrapper but I wish they listed out what goes with what. Like haveing to put the osillation number into the type of oscilators(ex: saw~ 440). It took me like an hour to figure that out in plug because that's not how pure works.

Nice tutorials, thank you! You should consider not using the background music, at least while Pd makes sounds, it is unnecessary distracting... But otherwise great videos!
