I have a question: Is it possible for one DJ, equipped with the same lighting setup as another, to share pre-programmed lighting sequences via SoundSwitch? For instance, could one DJ send over their preset ambiance for cocktail hour or dinner, and the receiving DJ simply load it into their SoundSwitch, provided they have matching lights configured to the same DMX channels and addresses?

Hi, thanks for the guide, I’m going to give Sound Switch a go this coming weekend 👍🏻 Question I have is, with the wireless DMX dongles, do I need one for every single lighting fixture, or just one for each “master unit” and then use DMX cables for the slave units? I have 2x Equinox Heilx XP 150 Moonflowers, and 4x Equinox Fusion Spot XP MK3’s. TIA 👍🏻

They all just need the DMX signal, whether wirelessly or with a wired cable. Good luck!

Hi Darryl, thanks for this video. I managed to pair my IR-4s to sound switch yesterday with your same settings. I turned on my computer this morning and am now having connection issues. The lights won’t connect to sound switch and they all say slave, even though they are on the proper DMX channels. I’ve already checked and my donner transmitter is working correctly because my gig bars are following the script, but the up lights are not responsive. Can you please help?

And I need to be able to follow with my moving heads the bride and groom for the first dance and the guests during the speeches. The static modes seem good to me but I can't see if soundswitch allows live tracking with the moving heads ? With the WM1 I can point & shoot. What about SW ? Thank you in advance ! ✌🏼

With engine lighting (running SS on a stand-alone Denon controller), you have a nice touch screen interface to control your movers. You can also do that with a mouse or trackpad, but I personally don't do that a lot.

Hi, so I have a problem. I installed SoundSwitch, I made a profile to auto-connect my mic as a mic each time it's connected (the default for Windows is to consider it a Speaker), and now each time I connect a different speaker and change the settings in Windows, it auto-connects to the speaker I mentioned in SoundSwitch. The problem is that each time I open SoundSwitch since, it opens as a background process, I need to crash it in task manager to connect to a new speaker, and each time I reopen SoundSwitch, it reopens only as a background process and I don't have the menu to make or change my profiles.

If I played guitar in a band again, I would want my lights to run themselves with minimal input, and SoundSwitch would be great for that. If I had a drummer that used backing tracks, I would 100% custom script songs to the backing tracks

@DJDarylBennett ok thanks. This won't fix the Up light problem will it? The Up lights are running a whole different color than the 360 tubes. The tubes are running the right color and the Up lights will be a totally different color. Example: Autoloop is on a pink color and 360 tubes are pink, but Up lights may be blue. Up lights are still on beat and changing at the same time but a whole different color.

Is Wireless DMX a standard protocol? Fr example, the Donner transmitters work with any wireless DMX lights, no matter what brand or do I have to use them with Donner receivers?

Yes. I have wireless receivers from other brands that work with them. There's the slight caveat that there's other wireless protocols as well, w-dmx, crmx, d-fi, etc...

Im in the market for a new DMX controler, adj wmx1 looks very nice, 4 DMX univers and can be use as DMX spliter but after watching how the parameters or lay is set it was like -1 point. Vs SS look OK, I belive you can run only 2 universes, then again you got to pay a mothly fee that a walk away for me, You buy a product yet you still have to make mothly payments. I like it how you can create custom show to each song, these guys dont make any easy for us... so if you buy the 300dlls controller you still have to pay the mothly fee. what if you dont pay the mothly fee.. can you still use it or it gets lock up..

There's some extra charges for the wmx1 too, you have to pay for extra universes and the 3d visualizer. I think most djs don't need 4 universes. I don't even use 2 universes on SoundSwitch right now. You can buy a lifetime license for $199 and not have to pay a monthly fee.

Thanks for the info, yes most User(DJs) dont use more than one universe, but its better to have all fixtures patch in, I was thinking using one univers for moving heads etc and an other universe for Uplights. It work as a dmx spliter. or sometimes I would hook up the megalite transmiter from one of my elation movers but it was tricky cause I had to set up the DMX OUT data out or else it would not DMX out. hard decicions.🤔

Poor performance with Eurolite KLS Pro Scan on auto analyze. Scanners doesnt move as should be, the fixture doesnt change, only colors change. I was aspecting to be more practic. I waste 2 days to get in these results. I dont have tine to make manual scripts over 10000 songs. In my case, is much better to play with sound mode programs from eurolite. I will return the product

Sorry Daryl, but your tutorial didn't help. The SoundSwitch tutorial videos didn't help either. I got as far as adding an autoloop, but it all fell apart from there. None of my lights responded. I have tried everything with my SoundSwitch and Control One, which I bought last year. Very little works as expected. SAVEing a project doesn't work. The SoundSwitch software won't remember anything I do now, It won't even recognise half of my lights, whereas it did a few weeks ago. I have changed DMX cables, etc. This has been a waste of money, not to mention time and effort. I really need a one-to-one with somebody who knows how to do it all.

I think my tutorial is pretty thorough, as I literally start from scratch and show the lights responding. That said, I'm sorry that you're experiencing issues and it's not working. SoundSwitch support is free and they sometimes are able to walk thru the software with you. I got everything set up this afternoon and was actually feeling confident that this was going to work and that I was about to find out where I have been going wrong, but it was not to be. I have to conclude that there is something wrong in my setup. It doesn't make sense. I will look for more local help as I am in the UK. Hopefully somebody will come to my rescue.
