I'm so glad you're doing this. I bought this thinking it would be simple to operate. NOT!! I mean I have got it to work, it just isn't as simple as I thought it would be before I bought it. Keep up the good work. I appreciate you.

So how did your DJ endeavors go? :) I’m about to do the same, not as much lights tho, and I’m trying to decide which lightning control system to get. Have you liked SS and are you using autoscripting or autoloops more?
@TheGedi692 жыл бұрын
Still using soundswitch. I have loads of different lights for the many different DJ Rigs I Have. I also use Philips Hue at home & have just got into Nanoleaf as well. I use autoloops (which I have edited to my tastes). I also script some tracks , but just a few for each gig , as most clients really don't get all the work a proper scripted track can look like. So go with 95% loops and script a few tracks..... but make sure you understand what scripting looks like.

@@TheGedi69 Alright! Thanks for the reply, not many people do that to old comments :) Cant wait to get my hands on dmx programming.. Currently thinking wether to get a complete lightweight setup like starville bossfx1 or pick separate lights and get just the ones I want.. Tough decision. But interface/software is going to be SS thats for sure

What would be the best way to use sound switch for a live band? I know it's not made for it, but every once in a while I dj between bands and running lights.

Ok then how do you use this auto scripted songs when you dj with your mixer ? Does it save and it recognizes the song when you are mixing

Is it compatible with any lap top ?

Is SoundSwitch limited to dj's or would it be possible for a band with a backing track or click track to use? I'd like to see if that would work! Thanks for the tutorial!

so heres a question is it possible to buy or otherwise download scripts to songs??

I'm liking your set up. Was thinking about getting a chauvet gigbar for $499 but I'm not sure now. How much does that set up cost?
@thedjbriansmith4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan! The Chauvet Core 3X3s are around 399 each. The ADJ Mega Pars are around 79 I think. I really dislike the gigbars personally. I think you get more for your money buying pars and washes and getting creative with them. They are also more versatile and in my opinion far more professional

does the autoscript create the same effects for all the connected devices? or does it vary them among the lights?
@thedjbriansmith4 жыл бұрын
When this video was made there wasn't much variety. The current version blows it out of the water. Should have a video up soon on that.

Is there a ' fixture Creator' tool? Like if I have a china light that is not on the list where I can input my own channels and what they do and save it as a light?
@thedjbriansmith4 жыл бұрын
There is not, however the library is pretty robust and you are likely to find a profile for most Chinese lights that works. If not you can email support@soundswitch.com and they will add it in for you pretty quickly.

When you load a song into ss and autoscript it how does ss remember that song so when you play it in virtual dj it will call the script that was auto generated. I use the auto mix function in vdj. I'm unsure how the autoscript works other than you do it there and then rather than anytime you want to call it up whilst in vdj. Help please explain
@isaiahfurrow74146 жыл бұрын
So, instead of auto loops.... You can create a show with certain lights in the setup, and then make an automated script for each separate song.... Say I were to do this for 100 songs , will they all be somewhat different than each other, as far as colors and effects and such? Then as you have time you can go through and edit specific songs to make just the show you want for that song? And is there a way to make it do something if you end up playing a song you haven't programmed into Soundswitch at all yet? I'm just starting to dive deeper into this, but hope to get mine soon and take my lights to the next step in 2019... I will likely DL the software and check it out soon....
@thedjbriansmith6 жыл бұрын
Yes you can script songs to have their own lighting shows by using automation. The algorithm in the program reads the intensity of the track mainly relating on kick and snare so each song will be different. You can edit them as you need to over time. If you haven't programmed a song then the autoloops will kick in.

Why is the color hue change still such a guess? I see you slid it towards green and barely have green for the outcome, Just curious, and I appreciate all you share!!!
