Awesome video. - How is the SSL SiX connected? - Can you output multiple tracks from the OPZ or do you have audio-out from the OP-Z and Nord both coming in on diff channels?

Thanks Brent! The OP-Z's stereo output goes to one channel of SSL SiX & the Nord Lead is connected to a separate channel. The two are mixed together and the main mix is recorded using the Apogee interface.

@@soundtechnology - I want to do pretty much what you are doing here. I want to use the OP-Z as a drum machine & sequencer & add a synth for jamming. - sometimes record. - Being a DJ, I like the idea of having a mixer. - and the SiX does seem to sounds pretty good, which is why I guess you have it in this vid. - good EQ controls and 1 knob compression. If you could have replaced the SiX in this vid with something else - would you have? - Club mixers would be an obvious choice for me, but I dont believe the quality compares, from what I can hear. If I could route multiple channel from my computer into the SiX on a single cable :) - there are just so ways to connect a OP-Z, - but this vid caught my attention - thats for sure. - thanks.

$150 seems really steep, but I like my OP-Z and it's impossible to connect to a lot of equipment with the existing MIDI clock. Have to run it through a USB MIDI Host and even then it's spotty. If this solves that, I would buy.

Awesome! Any advices and videos on how to setup with other gears and midi setup from the app? 🤓
@soundtechnology5 жыл бұрын
If you go to the 'Midi Setup' page in the app, you can change settings from there. You can change the output channel for each track, and you can also assign the MIDI CC values of the dials. We haven't done a video for this yet, but we may do one in the near future!

Can you record specific Nord Midi performances to each track? So that if you record 2 differenr nord passages on 2 differenr tracks, you can swap between them?
@soundtechnology4 жыл бұрын
Yes, each track on OP-z can be assigned it's own MIDI channel output to control different synth voices. For example, you could set Bass, Lead tracks to output on MIDI Channels 1 & 2 respectively. You can then set the A1's slots to receive MIDI on 1 and 2. Then you can sequence two separate parts which play different synth voices. You can actually do this for all 4 slots on the A1! Imagine it like you've taken the sequencer on the Z and replaced the synth engines with Nord synth engines.

@@soundtechnology That's awesome, thank you! You guys make the best OP-Z videos by far. Also, my OP-Z is on the way, so I was curious how you choose between using the A1 synth and the OP-Z synth, as you play the chords from the Nord stage, and the lead from the OP-Z.

@@soundtechnology Also, I don't have the oplab module as I can't afford it, would it be possible to sync i.e a Microkorg XL+ in the same way you do with the OP-Z here, just using the USB port?
@soundtechnology4 жыл бұрын
@@casinomann Yes you can do that as well. You may need something in between like a DAW or USB MIDI Converter, but the principle is the same. Just set the Microkorg to the same MIDI channel as one of the OP-Z tracks and the two should talk to each other.

How do you sequence the A1 synths, right before using it as a midi recorder for the bass/lead/tape track?

I thought the OP-Z has USB midi capabilities. What does this add?
@soundtechnology4 жыл бұрын
It adds 5-pin MIDI I/O for direct connection to external MIDI devices. It also adds CV and PO Sync which we talk about more in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ-vqZKrmK5nr68
