Don Siegel was surely one of Hollywood’s more creative directors, trying his hands on various genres, successfully. Among his works are the sci-fi classic “Invasion Of The Body Snatchers” (1956), westerns, most notably John Wayne’s melancholic last one “The Shootist” (1976) and action movies, famously featuring Clint Eastwood, such as “Coogan’s Bluff” (1968) or “Dirty Harry” (1971). He also tried his hands on the Italo-western-genre, which was rather unusual for a Hollywood production but a huge success with “Two Mules For Sister Sara” (1970), not only featuring an international staff, feeling and looking like as it would be an Italian product but sounding like one as well, thanks to composer Ennio Morricone. Featuring his famously known “Mule-theme”, the composer provided an all in all matching score for the satirical western. Enjoy!

What a classic. I used to watch this film (like most Westerns) with my grandad in his truck (he was a truck driver). As soon as I hear the first bars of the soundtrack I get mems.

It's always been one of my favorite Morricone soundtrack. The film is not as well known as the dollar trilogy or Eastwood's other American westerns for some reason but it's one of his most entertaining!

This is gold. My favorite of course, is the real movie where you see the mountain lion getting ready to pounce with the theme playing in the background.

Hello! I have this soundtrack in vinyl! It's great fun the " mule sound " - typical Morricone! In Brasil, called " The Vulture have Hungry " ( bizarre... ). The first choice for " Sister " Sara was Liz Taylor. Action, fun, tension and a " Enya moment " ( in " A Time for Miracles "). Great Morricone! Thanks again, Fred!!!!!!

Hello Bianca and thanks for the insights! It is interesting to me as the German and Brazilian titles seem to be rather similar. The German is "A Meal For The Voltures". Best to you! Fred

In that movie there are a Spanish song singing by females Spanish speakers, if I'm not wrong, it probably appear two times. I found that sing beautiful, but I don't find anywhere. If someone know that song, I'll be very happy.
