Hello Don, I very new in this filed; I purchased your book and follow with you on KZbin step by step. I stuck on the TFTP Server. Where did you get the IP 192.168.101.2? Does it static configure to my host ? Thank you Sam

Great video! But....I am running into some issues where there is PKI key information in the running config, so it is failing to restore that because it doesn't recognise the hash keys as valid commands. Is there any workaround for this?

Thank you Don, it was very useful video. one question, if i make the same thing but copy the configuration file to FTP server and my FTP server require authentication, how do i insert the username and password? thank you again!
@soundtraining9 жыл бұрын
Adi Mahluf Hi Adi. I'm not aware of a way to do that within the configuration file. You might be able to write a script to use within an app like PuTTY to do it.

You really don't have to change the putty logging settings just to copy the result of the command "show running config" as Ctrl+Insert & Shift+Insert can help to copy/paste the lines interest you! Why do I really need to print-to-file the putty logging for this???!! I saw another video showing the same thing!!!

The "terminal length 0" command didn't work on my Cisco ASA 5505 firewall. Do they use a different command than the routers? Also, the configuration that gets spit out into the log file encrypts the actual password and shows a jumbled up password place holder. Doesn't that jumbled up password get assigned to the device if you leave it like that? I was told that you had to delete that jumbled up password and type in the actual password you want before pasting and applying it again.
@soundtraining10 жыл бұрын
The command set on the ASA is similar to that used on Cisco routers, but it's not the same. The command on an ASA is "terminal pager 0". As to your question about the password, notice in the output that the enable password statement includes the word "encrypted" at the end. That tells the ASA that the indicated password is encrypted. The information you were given about deleting the password is not correct.
