@kevin I've been working on a 3560 layer 3 switch. Accidentally deleted the iOS file and I'm unable to restore it. The layer 3 switch is stuck in ROM mode, how would I restore the iOS and switch to factory default ?

Is there an update on this answer

Load a valid image compatible with your current rom on a usb and boot from there, then do copy usb0: bootflash: ios.bin, set configuration register to 0x2102, wr mem, reload

@@ChipsChallenge95 I do not see a USB port on the 3560 Cisco layer 3 switch would I be able to connect a ethernet to USB hub and still get the same result to transfer back on the needed iOS from ROM mode? Also would I need to apply a IP address and subnet mask on the lair 3 switch in order to transfer in ROM mode? I am building a home lab to study for the CCNA exam. I also have two 2960 layer 2 switches along with three 1841 Cisco routers for my lab.

If you have an L3 interface and a tftp server you can run your ios through tftpdnldr. It takes a while but is a lot faster than xmodem/zmodem rommon 1 > IP_ADDRESS=X.X.X.X rommon 2 > IP_SUBNET_MASK=X.X.X.X rommon 3 > DEFAULT_GATEWAY=X.X.X.X rommon 4 > TFTP_SERVER=X.X.X.X rommon 5 > TFTP_FILE=iosfile.bin rommon 6 > tftpdnld -r

This would be a great opportunity to mention "show archive config differences"

Nice one would be good to have one for nexus too.

Important point about tftp - your backup file must exist on the tftp server prior to copying. Otherwise the copy command will result in an error.

Kevin is it a good idea to move from Europe 🌍 to US 🌎 as a cyber security professional who's not yet much experienced? I'll finish my university this year and I'm thinking about moving to the US and work there for some time to get more experience. I'm not ready to move yet but after I get more experience here. Is it even a good idea? what do you think? 🤔

Is like the US open for foreigners who want to work in their country?
