I love Fred & Ed chattering away. And all the random noises for that matter. They bring some liveliness to the terminal.

I don't want to sound like a negative Nancy here but how do I turn all these noises off? I have about 8 locos all with TS2 decoders and in a confined space when the wrenches start turning and cab doors start slamming and radio chatter starts going off all at once, my operators get headaches. Can I just set all those sounds to 0 and turn them off? Love your product but many features are just not for me. Thanks

That is the beauty of Tsunami2. You can customize it to match your preferences. Each sound effect has its own volume so you can turn it down or down to 0. CVs 129-160 are the Primary Mixer Volume Levels. You can also adjust the probability of some effects. CVs 201-208: Fireman Fred Probability CVs. How do you activate the cab chatter?? or the 'coupling'?? How do you play any of the other sounds that are assigned to 'function keys'? Do you simple type in the number? Do you enter the number with the keypad and then 'enter'? Why are F10, 11 and 12 along the bottom by themselves if the function keys are entered via the nuymeric keypad? I have an Athearn Genesis with Tsunami2 and a PowerCab. The PowerCab manual seems to dive into great detail withOUT explaining any of the 'basics' like this!! Thanks.

Unfortunately how your DCC system works is not something we can teach as we do not make them we cannot support them. I am sorry that your DCC system's manual is not helping you. Typically when a sound is controlled by a function key you press the key controlling it to hear the sound. You don't have to hit a function key to play the cab chatter each time you want to hear it. You turn the function on then cab chatter will play 'randomly' in the background. Please contact our Support Department directly for more help with this. They will help all they can, but please remember that the DCC system is not our product so they cannot teach you how to use it. I always program my cab chatter and the front ditch lights to the same function number ( for me it is F5), so when I’m running a consist of two or more Engines, only the lead will be playing the chatter. I also have the cab chatter set that it only comes on. Every few minutes or so.

I had it with the AMTK 5 crew chatter about the California Zephyr. Reasons to run a CZ with a factory TSU2 sound Athearn Genesis P42DC leader lol

Love how you guys use realistic crew talk in the Tsunami2. Normally crew talk is just cheesy recording studio nonsense with no static or anything. This sounds (and is) real! Keep up the good work.

Concern:: Fireman Ed mentions "Amtrak" and there is a talking defect detector - doesn't really work for those of us who model the 60's. We don't need Fireman Fred shoveling coal, BUT we really shouldn't have talking detectors or even the phrase "copy that" (not generally used on commercial radios in the 1960s).

So cab chatter and shoveling coal are different features and controlled by different CVs. The cab chatter phrases are somewhat generic to fit a variety of models, but they may not all apply to every model. Right now this feature is not selectable, but we will keep this feedback in mind for the future.
