Hey McNasty, as someone who spent his HS life being a shitty human, stealing from his family. Ita generally not a friend thing and money wont help, its an adrenaline thing, People look at it as more fucked up to steal from who u know, but from his point of view he knows he can do it without real trouble since family is unlikly to file charges. Best thing to do would be to scare him with charges or try to find him a healthier thrill. Giving up will just send him deeper and paying him wont do anything but reinforce the idea of a reward for bad behavior.
