It's common to have to pull a lot 😉 keep yanking👍. Have you pulled the engine apart? if so get the piston and push it in to the sleeve as long as the piston doesn't go through the top or all the way through the engine sleeve is fine. Clean the carb with carb cleaner if you can blow fuel in and it drops carbs good. The muffler and lines/ gaskets are new with tank should be good. make sure everything on the engine is tight the carb the head screws and back plate. When engine has a good seal you should be able to pick it up by the pull start and it should not turn over completely. Measure the actual pistions od I'd be able to tell you what engine you actually have size's wise . P.s It looks great now it's worth 400$ish👍😉👊💯💪p.s IV never have or had painted a new body on a RC car LoL. When reassemble the position and head they go a certain direction connecting rod grove goes twords crank shaft. HPI lettering on head should be in line with carb and muffler it self. You going to be a RC pro in no time flat.🏎️💪💯

after think and watch i positive i know why it didn't fire up again it not the compression i could here it pop there enough if you did pull it apart completely if you did the piston back words. i did see so i assume not. so what happen to it was when you started it that last time you got the glow plug so hot it burn off the plating the plug needs to get the engine to fire and stay on. even if you pull the plug and it glows red if the plating is burnt of it wont star people have done this to new plugs. crappie fuel or really bad tune does it. when you turned the screw with it running you burnt the plug plating off the glow plug its impossible to see the coating witch sucks. 100 percent positive if you put a new os #8 glow plug and a few drops of fuel in carb it would fire up. even with low coemption a engine will run. no matter what as soon as it worms up it will die the oil and fuel goes by once worm. cold it make a seal at least to fire up. my be hard to but there never been a engine that i couldn't get to fire up. in less totally lock up or blow apart. know matter what it will at least fire up because fuel and spark. took me a while because in a gas engine car guy not to much desal and two Strock. hard to remember every difference between all. lol
