Yes, thanks, I have already watched that video. The question is, when you are required to take a 3 day pack, do you wear the pack over the top of the items that are on the back of your plate carrier (in the plate carrier video) ? In this video I can't see those items on the back of your plate carrier . Thanks😅

I have a copy of the FAC and RECON tips that was published by MACV-SOG Project Delta. and a lot of the tips still hold up. Frags to the front of the LBE, Screening HC Smoke and CS grenades to the rear. Signalling smoke was carried external pockets on the ruck. along with a bandoleer of 5.56 in the old 20 rnd mags. Some teams had a claymore bag sewn on the top of the ruck with the claymore pre-rigged with a bag of CS powder taped to the front of the the mine and the detonation wire with the clacker attached daisy chained on the top.

I came to Ukraine with a Helikontex pack, here I got an old US army assault pack through a volunteer organization, and after watching this vid, I bought myself a Source Patrol pack))). Anyone laughing at extra mags on the backpack hasn't ever crossed over the zero line, especially without the prospect of air support, simply because there isn't any. I always have three mags strapped on to the pack, as well as extra grenades for the GP25. As always , it was fun to watch, I learned something new and useful. Thank you, Jeff!

3 mags on the back seems like a damn good idea to me! It’s been a while, but as I recall we were trained to hit the prone and drop ruck when taking contact, that puts 3 mags right where ya need them. Thanks gor another good video, keep them coming.

Jeff, I really appreciate you sharing all of your knowledge and experience. I look forward to when you put out new content. I'm just a humble part-time MP but I did base my personal plate carrier and war belt setup from your article in defense review. It was you that turned me on to ATS and when my joes ask me where to find good kit, I always point them in that direction.

Jeff - when I saw this video review I thought it might be old. I came across your 'article' on the Source 35L a few years ago - yeah it's still out there with the pics from 'the Stan'! Loved seeing a full blown operator in the environment! I'm a bit of a 'collector' of mil-surp gear - not out of control 'open up my own store' big but I have a lot of gear. Anyway I was surfing the net back in 2016 and found a smokin' deal on a 35L backpack in Coyote from what I suspected was an 'off brand' dumping ground site. Price was so good I bought 3 of the packs and after a too casual of a review I bought 3 more at same price. It turns out these packs are 'identical' to the Source 35L pack you're showing in this video. The one difference is what you like so much about the Source pack - the shoulder straps are attached at the 'top' of the packs I bought - not offset lower like on the Source. When I ran across your article I grabbed one of the packs I bought and was amazed at the similarity - removable waist strap and all. First thought was Chinese 'knockoff' which they very well could be but they are made well. My other thought was maybe Source prototypes (unreleased - no tag or insignia) before they lowered the shoulder strap attachment points. I've loaded one up with 35+ pounds and have done some hiking with it and it's held up. Don't know if I'd go to war with it but certainly a good pack for the $35 I paid. Anyway after your review 'article' I wanted a real Source backpack and found one from an online retailer that sells 'real surplus' on occasion. The store was calling the Source 35L packs 'US military' surplus(?) Bought for $140 but it's in UCP - I can live with that as pack was in unused condition (still had tag). They still have the smaller Source 'commander pack' that just has a 3L water bladder pouch w/bladder and upper and lower pouches. I've read that Source makes the best water bladders in the world. Anyway I'm glad Source fixed you up - they don't give those things away! BTW - when I saw your mag pouches on the back of the Source pack while you were in 'the Stan' I thought 'what a great idea' and just assumed it was SOP for you guys! My source has the standard GI 3-mag 'placard' (yeah - UCP) attached and people comment positively all the time! Love your videos! Sorry for the 'page' but thought it was interesting!

I was wondering what your thoughts on the following matter might be (and if you could make a video on it). A lot of the footage from Ukraine has shown both sides using bright colored tape on their helmets and uniform to distinguish between friendlies and enemies (similar to the painting on some of the vehicles). If the US were to be engaged in a war with a near peer, do you think we would end up doing the same thing? The Chinese uniforms seem distinct enough from our uniforms that this might not be an issue, but a lot of the Russian uniforms are a little too similar for comfort, which makes me concerned that friendly fire could be an issue like it is in Ukraine. It's kind of a big shift from Afghanistan and the GWOT where now instead of trying to distinguish between civilians and combatants, we're trying to distinguish between friendlies and enemies that might look very similar.

I see it as a very practical solution. Id hate to be confused for the enemy at a distance. Worse would not being able to tell enemy from teammates.
