KEEP Purdy and someone needs to tell Kyle to study how Bill Walsh coached the old 49ers. He was smart and creative with the plays. He frequently called plays like a double reverse and other plays to catch the opposing team off guard. That was one of factors in their success of the 80's. (Proper and creative play calling.)

You can take Dak out of the equation, his circumstance is unique,Jerry Jones botched the contract negotiations so badly that Dak had unprecedented amounts of leverage. That said he's going to want, and get, more than Love or Lawrence. 4 year $57 mil per year, $200 guaranteed is my guess. "But he's not athletic!!!!" Who are the two best QBs of the last 30 years? Brady and Mahomes, one is a scarecrow and the other has a dad bod, not exactly the peak of athleticism are they? Yet the torched nearly everyone they play(ed) against. Athleticism at QB is a secondary priority for teams, they want someone that can get to and win a Super Bowl. Purdy already got them there once (and nearly got them there twice had it not been for an injury to him) and had Shanhan understood the overtime rules might have won it.

The 49ers don't seem to have a lot of leverage in the Purdy situation. Had they knocked off Kansas City in last year's Super Bowl, I don't believe that we'd be having this conversation, the max extension would have been drawn up and awaiting his signature. If you don't get him the guaranteed maximum for quarterbacks, putting him in the top 5-6 in salary, someone else will. I believe that his camp holds the leverage, up to him holding out, as some other 49ers skill players have done. You have to get creative in team contract structuring and in some cases, restructuring. Some teams have paid their quarterbacks, and couldn't pay anyone else. If I'm in their shoes, I would pay the man, and then let the restructuring process begin.

Instead of talking about Brock and how much we think he will get paid (because it really doesn't matter), how about we talk about areas we can improve in and what options we may have. Like moving on from Deebo and possibly finding a gem route runner that can beat mvm. How about Oline options that may be available. Are we going to bring back Greenlaw and Huff? This idea of always talking about Purdy is beyond overkill at this point. I understand eh brings the clicks but there are far greater issues with this team. New DC and Special teams coaches. Huge mistake. Purdy is not elite. Kyle loves his guys. He keeps them well past prime and over values them. We’ll be average for a while. Once we eventually move on from purdy hopefully we’re done with Kyle too. Ready for change. Very talented team. Too talented to be losing and watching the Chiefs keep winning. Now Buffalo is becoming a problem. This isn’t panning out well. We should have already won a championship because it’s just getting harder.
