59:24 Dumbledore asked Snape for something in return cuz he was a Dark Wizard back then, he was working for Voldemort. Actually what happened was Snape overheard the prophecy Professor Trelawney(The divination teacher) made while Dumbledore was taking an interview with her in hogsmeade to recruit her as a teacher. Then what Snape did was he told the prophecy to Voldemort then Voldemort found out about the boy which was said in the prophecy (A boy born at the end of July). And who might that be? Harry and Neville. Voldemort thought it was Harry cuz Harry is Half blood and so is Voldemort. So he thought Harry was his equal as it was said in the prophecy. To be clear, the resurrection stone doesn't work, it just brings an image of the dead person into this plane. What made Harry survive was Voldemort himself. When he decided to use Harry's blood to come back to life in a new body, in the Goblet of Fire, he also had Lily's blood. That is, the protection spell that Lily did when she died, had the condition that her blood remain in this world activating the spell, when Voldemort killed Harry, he came back to life because Voldemort kept Lilian's spell active for having Harry's blood, consequently her still on earth as an anchor for her protection spell. Ps: it didn't appear in the movie, but since Harry sacrificed himself for hogwartz by willingly going to his death for the love of hogwartz, he created the same protection spell for the school, so Voldemort's spells stopped working on students, teachers, etc. It's a really good moment in the book, when Harry exposes Voldemort's stupidity in using his blood to revive himself. Goyle (Crabbe in the book) was using Fiendfyre. It's a very powerful spell that is almost impossible to counter..unless you're Dumbledore. That's the same spell Voldemort used during their fight at the Ministry In the book it took Fawkes swallowing the Fiendfyre to protect Dumbledore. Also Goyle learned how to produce ot from the Carrows but not control it or end the spell. Only someone with Voldemort's mindset believes that killing someone is the only way to defeat them. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald without killing him and won the wand from him. Draco disarmed Dumbledore and Harry disarmed Draco. They defeated their opponent without killing them. Snape was a Death Eater. Dumbledore was really supposed to just trust him? He needed some assurance of Snape's loyalty is how I see it. Dumbledore didn't find the Resurrection Stone until he started hunting for the horcruxes. That's how he was cursed and his hand withered. It was Voldemort's own arrogance and inability to understand love that saved Harry. Voldemort used Harry's blood to rebuild his body but didn't understand the true strength of Lily's protection contained in Harry's blood. Dumbledore realized the night Harry came back from the graveyard exactly what Voldemort had done. Voldemort, in a way, turned himself into a positive horcrux for Harry. As long as Voldemort is alive with Harry's blood in his veins then Harry can't die. Voldemort had to destroy the piece of himself inside Harry with the Elder Wand. The book really explains everything in more detail but Voldemort basically killed himself because the Elder Wand refused to kill it's true master Harry and rebounded Voldemort's curse on him. Kids. So, in the books the finale was a bit different. THe differences: - In the book, final duel between Harry and Voldemort happened in the Great Hall filled with people. And once Voldemort died, his body simply dropped dead on the floor. A person that wanted to live forever, who looked nothing like human (in the books he also had red snake eyes) dropped dead on the floor like a common man, who didn't lived only for 72 years. In the movie it was the Entrance COunrtyard , alone and VOldemort was Thanos snapped before Thanos did it. - Harry fixed his wand with the Elder Wand and returned the Elder Wand back into Dumbledore's grave. - Neville x Luna was never a thing, this was done only for the movie for some reason. In the books, Neville married Hannah Abbot, the name doesnt mean anything to movie watchers. Luna in other hand married grandson of Newt Scamander, the author of the book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them" and who's the protagonist of Fantastic Beasts movies. Now onto who became who at the end. Neville became Herbology Professor at Hogwarts, Ginny became Professional Quidditch player, but quit when she became a mother. Harry and Ron became Aurors, and while Harry rose through the ranks, Ron left after couple of years of service and began working at Fred and George's shop, who was now owned only by George. Hermione became Minister of Magic, McGonnagal became Headmistress of Hogwarts and other professors continued to tach at the school. One last thing is Victor Krum, who appeared only in the fourth film, but was mentioned throughout other books and briefly appeared in the 7th book at Bill and Fleur's wedding. He had a good Chaser career, but as he grew older (by his 30s), VIctor's skills roughed up and he had to quit after he failed to catch the Snitch. But after couple of years, he came back for the last time and managed to end his career with success. P.S. I don't count event of the Cursed Child and I don't rememeber where Draco worked.

Okay guys, this will be a little long, but some things need explaining. 1. As Ollivander says it in the book: the owner of the Elder Wand must always fear attack. It's history is bloody because it arouses so much passion. Most previous owners were murdered for it. And honestly, after all of this, Harry doesn't need that. 2. What if Voldemort comes back? - you ask. Well, firstly, no spell can reawaken the dead. Secondly, it was never the amount of power that really mattered. If this were about power, sheer magical abilities, Voldemort would have been the clear victor. But as Dumbledore (book version) said referring to Voldemort: "...and his knowledge remained woefully incomplete. That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend. Of house elves and children's tales, of love, loyalty and innocence Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power of their own, a power beyond the reach of any magic is a truth he has never grasped". 3. The movies allow people to understand that the Resurrection Stone is what allowed Harry to return. The truth is much more beautiful. The ignorant Voldemort took into his own body a part of Harry's blood, and by doing so, took into his body a part of the protection that Lily gave Harry when she sacrificed herself for him. That protection lives in Harry's blood. So when Voldemort took that blood, he unwittingly made sure that the protection lives on. Basically in that moment Voldemort became the only person in the world who couldn't possibly kill Harry. Dumbledore knew this, that's why he said to Snape that "Voldemort himself must do it, that is essential". He knew that basically any death eater could have killed Harry easily. In the forest, the power of the Killing Curse knocked both Harry and Voldemort out for a while, but the only thing that was killed, was the part of Voldemort's soul that was inside Harry. 4. Voldemort's ultimate fate is worse than death. In order to "pass on", you must have an intact and whole soul. Voldemort split his soul in many pieces, therefore he will spend eternity in limbo. There is a way to restore the soul, but only be feeling remorse. Remorse so powerful that the pain of it will kill you.

Voldemort was the like the oldest brother since they both died seeking power. Snape represented the second brother who died for love. Harry willingly went to Death, like the third brother. Dumbledore was Death since he controlled & manipulated the circumstances that lead to the three dying, not because he had the Hallows. Dumbledore was never in possession of more than two Hallows at any given time. Before Harry started school Dumbledore had the Elder Wand & was in possession of the Invisibility Cloak, though the cloak actually belonged to Harry since he had rightfully inherited it from James. Dumbledore returned the Cloak to Harry & for 5 years he only had the Elder Wand. Then before the start of the sixth book he found the Stone hidden in the Gaunt’s shack. So, he only ever had 2 of the Hallows. Even Harry didn’t physically possess all 3 at the same time either. The Cloak had been his for years, the Stone was hidden in the Snitch Dumbledore had left him so he had two at the start of the book/movie. The Elder Wand had given him it’s allegiance since he defeated Draco but Wand wasn’t actually in his possession. He had its loyalty & it recognized him as its Master but Voldemort was using it. So midway through the story he still only had two (the Cloak & the Stone) on him. He dropped the Stone in the Forbidden Forest before he took possession of the Wand. So even Harry only had use of two of the Hallows at the same time.

Stuff left out in the movies + extra info: 1. Harry survived the killing curse because Voldy had used Harry's blood to recreate his body. He had taken Lily's protection into his body, essentially signing his death wish as he made it impossible to kill Harry so long as he himself was alive. The horcrux, however, could still be destroyed. Speaking of... 2. Harry was the horcrux Voldy never meant to make and he never knew about it. So yes, he did create 7 horcruxes, though only 6 was active at any given time. The timeline for the horcruxes are : Diary created -> Ring c -> Locket c -> Cup c -> Tiara c -> Harry c -> Diary destroyed -> Nagini c -> Ring d -> Locket d -> Cup d -> Tiara d -> Harry d -> Nagini d. The horcruxes were destroyed in the exact order they were created. 3. The tiara did not need to be stabbed by the basilisk fang as the fire is a special cursed fire called Fiendfyre, which is capable of destroying horcruxes, but almost impossible to control thus why Hermione never thought of using it. 4. Fred actually dies in front of the trio and Percy, marking the 4th consecutive book in which Harry loses someone very close to him right in front of him. In order, it is Cedric (friend and rival) -> Sirius (godfather) -> Dumbledore (mentor) -> Fred (future brother-in-law). 5. Tonks was killed by Bellatrix, meaning that Bellatrix killed her own niece. Her and Lupin's son was named Teddy Lupin after Tonks' father, who was killed by Death Eaters shortly before the events of Malfoy Manor, but he was cut from the movies. Harry was named his godfather. 6. Voldy dies a normal death in the books. That is to say, he doesn't wither away like in the movies. It was meant to signify that for all he did, he was still nothing more than human. He is also going to be stuck in limbo forever, never able to pass to the afterlife. Harry was horrified at the thought of this and tried to help him, but he refused. 7. Petunia never hated Lily. She was jealous to not be part of the magical world and of how it cause Lily to become her parents' favorite. This can actually be seen in the third movie. When Marge is talking shit about Lily, you can see Petunia being distressed at hearing her sister being insulted. She was also horrified to learn that Voldy had returned. The idea that the man who killed her sister was at large again and was hunting her nephew seemed to drive home the terror her nephew was really in. Does this forgive her treatment of Harry? No. Ultimately, Harry was the living reminder of the world she couldn't be a part of, of the sister she had lost and most importantly, of the sister she had failed to reconnect with. 8. Snape was not a good man, no matter what the memories may show. He was a really brave man, that did some good things that ultimately helped save the world. The movies downplay just how terrible he is to students that aren't in Slytherin, especially Neville. Snape was not a good man. Brave, yes. Good, absolutely not. 9. Kingsley was made Minister for Magic after the war was over. He exiled Dementors from Azkaban and among others, gave Umbridge a life sentence in Azkaban. Lucius and Narcissa were spared from Azkaban, as they had abandoned Voldy. If you take the Cursed Child as canon, his successor is none other than Hermione. Having said that, no one that likes Harry Potter takes Cursed Child as canon, whatever Rowling may have said about it. 10. Harry's children are called James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter and Lily Luna Potter. James is in Gryffindor and is part of the Quidditch team. He also stole the Marauder's map from his dad. Albus eventually was sorted into Slytherin along with Scorpius, Draco's son. Draco completely threw away the pure-blood prejudice he had in the earlier books.

Excellent comment! Just a question, is it mentioned somewhere when exactly Nagini is turned into a horcrux? I thought (for some unknown reason) that this happened way before the diary was destroyed. I know Nagini was alive before, but I don't know when she was taken under Voldemort's wing or when he made her a horcrux. Now that I think about it, maybe after his ressurection in goblet I assume?

When she discovers that this weak pitiful half-life understands and speaks of her language she has no choice but to rejoice. She welcomes him. He, in turn, welcomes her. Uses her. Directs her. Ultimately makes her as his own, creating a Horcrux after having killed Bertha Jorkins which if I'm not wrong happened in 1994. And this was before his rebirth that happened in 1995, in the graveyard, using a potion to regain his strength that was created by non other than Peter the Rat. So, basically, she was made a Hurcrux after the destruction of Tom's diary, almost three years later.

@denizkenger52 Жыл бұрын
Also the ring was the first Horcrux, diary was second. We know Diary was made a horcrux in 1943 upon Myrtle Warren's death. This excerpt was said for when Tom Riddle got the ring and killed his Dad's side of the family to turn the ring into a Horcrux. "In the summer of his sixteenth year, he left the orphanage to which he returned annually and set off to find his Gaunt relatives." Tom Marvolo Riddle was born 31 December 1926. His first year would be 1927 then (and if you wanna say his first year is 1926 counting the year itself not 365 days, based on this first horcrux convo it doesnt make a difference in this point because it would be before diary either way), his second year would be 1928. Counting on in this way, we discover that his sixteenth year was 1942, which is when these murders occurred then. This puts the ring being made a Horcrux before the diary being made a Horcrux, the ring being in the summer of 1942 and the diary being made upon Mytle's death so in 1943. Matches with the conversation between Slughorn and Tom Riddle where Tom was questioning making multiple Horcruxes when he already had the ring on which would be after killing his family members so it would show he'd already made the ring a Horcrux and was wondering if he could make more than 1.

The reason why dumbledore is so cold to snape when he’s begging him for help is because snape overheard trelawneys prophecy to dumbledore about a chosen one who could destroy the dark lord. Snape told Voldemort the prophecy and Voldemort assumed that it was referring to harry and his parents so he set his sights on them. Snape, realizing that obviously Voldemort would murder them all, finally went to dumbledore and begged him to keep lily safe, which he did to the best of his ability. In return snape began to work for dumbledore. Unfortunately, James trusted Peter with their secret hideout, but Peter told Voldemort and betrayed them and we know what happened. I also think the line where dumbledore says don’t tell me you’ve begun to care for the boy gets misinterpreted. Dumbledore is being very cold but in the books the way he says it is not to imply that harry isn’t worth caring for, but more so saying ‘don’t tell me after all this time that YOU snape of all people actually care for harry, seeing as how you’re one of the main reasons his whole family was murdered, and you treat him like shit because he reminds you of your bully who stole your girl.’ And in reality, though I think clearly snape DID genuinely care for harry, though he didn’t want to admit it, his response shows that after all this time what has never changed is his undying love for lily. And he feels with this truth that all his effort to protect the last living piece of her was for naught. One thing that is never explained in the movies is how patronus charms change appearance. Snape originally had some other patronus, I forget what, and lilys patronus was a doe, just as James was a stag and an animagus stag (prongs) and so Harry’s is also a stag like his dad. But for snapes to be a doe means it changed after lily died, as a representation of his love for lily that he always kept in his heart, which it is also pretty uncommon for a patronus to change. it represents an enormous emotional change and your feelings have to be incredibly powerful and true for your patronus to change like that. And after all those years, it was still a doe, meaning his feelings are as strong as they ever were. Always a doe. Always. Sorry for the essay.

Here’s a good one: the scene where Hermoine is imitating Bellatrix is actually the actress playing Bellatrix pretending to be Hermoine pretending to be Bellatrix.

Not quite...its even better its Helena, playing Emma, playing Bellatrix, playing Hermione, playing Bellatrix. To do this, Helena (Bellatrix actres) between takes, gave Emma Watson her script and let Emma play all her parts as Bellatrix. So she could study how Emma would perform in that role. Emma also struggled to walk in Bellatrix shoes, so Helena included that, into her "immitation" its so perfect even down to the head tilt. Thats what you get when actors care about the material given to them. You dont doubt for one second that this is Emma Watson

Most people's favorite is Snape's redemption, but for me personally, it's Neville's! I can't remember exactly if it was explained in the films but the prophecy actually talked about a child who was born the end of July and that could've been Neville since both he and Harry were born end of July (this was explained in the books). The reason why Harry became the chosen one is because he was really chosen by Voldemort as his equal as Harry is half-blood like Voldemort while Neville is pureblood. Neville had the best character development tbh, as he was portrayed to be someone really weak in the beginning, in several films but then towards the end he definitely also fulfilled what the prophecy talked about; that he could've possibly defeated Voldemort if it was him he chose. Anyway, Soo happy to re-watch this with you. We've all grown but this franchise has a special place in our hearts esp for those who literally grew waiting for the book releases and film premieres. Hoping you'll still watch the fantastic beasts series ❤ more power to your channel!

I think Dumbledore was not wrong in asking Snape what would he give him in return because at the time Snape was a death eater and was the same dude that went straight to Voldemort after hearing the prophecy so of course there was no trust between them yet. Only until Snape told him everything did Dumbledore agree to be in alliance with him.

In the book, and in the movie, the flight of the seven Potters, Harry is affected by voldemort so much he is near unconsious with no energy to fire spells, defend himself, etc. His body is completely limp. The book stated he felt the wand lift itself up and fire the struggle spell (idr the name tbh)

About the patronus of Snape and Lily. In the books they explain to you that basically your patronus is the “manifestation” of your soul in the form of an animal. It can be anything, but if something emotionally deep happens to you, it's form can change. Originally Snape´s patronus was another animal (I think it was a bat), and when Lily died, his patronus took the form of hers (a doe). That's why Dumbledore after seeing the doe as his patronus (knowing that Lily´s was the same) asks him "after all this time?", as in you still have this patronus after all the time that has passed. And Snape answers “always” because he will always love Lily. ❤🩹

This is also explained as the reason that Harry's patronus is a stag - because he'd heard about stories of his father being an animagus and running around in stag form.

Interesting thing about Elder Wand. It is believed to be powerful itself, but the funny thing is - this wand changes its owners really often. So wand is not that crazy itself, it just attracts strong wizrds to owner, so the better wizard around wins and he is the strongest wizard around until someone more powerful appears.
@painvillegaming4119 Жыл бұрын
It is crazy strong
@MashZ Жыл бұрын
That's partially true, the wand itself is crazy strong and is guaranteed to win a duel for its owner (the keyword being 'its owner'). But the wand is also the most disloyal thing ever (Remember that the wand chooses the wizard/witch). Even if someone merely picks up the Elder wand against the owner's will it would change ownership to that person. Disarming the owner (even if the owner was holding a different wand and that was disarmed through non-magical means like snatching it like a thief) also changes the Elder wand's ownership. And lastly, killing the owner changes the wand's ownership.
@g-5615 Жыл бұрын
@@MashZ I mean, not really a guaranteed win. Grindelwald lost against Dumbledore when he had the Elder Wand (although he did steal it so he arguably wasn't the true owner). And Dubledore arguably could have lost against Voldemort in the fifth book/movie if the duel had continued.
@7thlittleleopard7 Жыл бұрын
@@g-5615 I refute that he wasn't the owner. If Grindewald wasn't the owner then Dumbledore wouldn't have won its loyalty (as we see with Voldemort not winning its loyalty by killing someone who wasn't its owner - Snape). Grindewald had to be its owner for Dumbledore to win it from him and transfer its ownership to Draco and, ultimately, Harry. What it does show is that Dumbledore was in fact so very strong and skilled in his fight against Grindewald that he still beat him with the wands help. OR that Grindewald couldn't find it in him to go against the man he loved so very much and eventually just lost heart in their battle. It was probably a mix of both, though.
@g-5615 Жыл бұрын
@@7thlittleleopard7 I find it more likely that Dumbledore would struggle emotionally with going up against Grindlewald than vice versa. Grindlewald wasn't exactly the most caring and compasionate person compared with Dumbledore, so if anything Dumbledore had even more of a struggle. So if Dumbledore did win, he did so fair and square, even though he had a massive disadvantage in the duel. So the elder wand is not a tool that magically makes you win, it just massively enhances your abilities, that was my point with disagreeing initially with the weilder of the elder wand winning any battle they entered.

2:26 ~~Hermione vibes~~ It’s *Avada Kedavra* not avadakadabra… This is an Aramaic phrase meaning something like “I will destroy as I speak” because instant death awaits anyone that this curse hits! 5:15 In fact the Goblins were trying to years and years to take the sword of Gryffindor! Goblins made the sword for Godric’s Gryffindor but after his death they claimed it because every goblin-made-object returns to the Goblins after the death of who it was made for! But Gryffindor never return the sword to them, instead he hide it and made it to magically appear to any worthy student of the Gryffindor House through his magic hat! The goblins weren’t happy at all and for centuries were trying to reclaim it! 11:30 They didn’t showed the wand because Bellatrix warned them that her wand has been stolen! If they showed them the wand it would mean that they were those that stole it! 14:25 That is another historically important object, the Cup of Helga Hufflepuff! In the books we learn how it ended up into Voldemort’s hands and Dumbledore also told to Harry that Voldemort picked very important objects to be his Horcruxes! He couldn’t accept his precious soul fragments to be kept into rubbish things… he chose carefully for precious objects with Historic value and meaning! 17:16 That is certainly Scotland! Imagine fly in a dragon’s back from London to the Scottish Highlands… 18:00 Film’s mistakes! Voldemort NEVER felt anything when Harry was destroying his Horcruxes! Voldemort NEVER found out that Harry discovered his secret! 35:55 Ron never spoke parseltongue! He just made some hissing-like-snake sounds. In the books it was explained the poor minds of Salazar Slytherin who thought that no one knew parcel tongue. He secured the chamber with parceltongue which was his unique gift but you didn’t have to actually speak it. Even some hissing sounds it was enough to open it… 37:14 Voldemort couldn’t feel the destruction on his horcruxes!!! That was pretty bad by the film makers! 42:15 Another important Historical artefacts! This belonged to the founder of Ravenclaw House, Rowena Ravenclaw! In the books we read how Voldemort looked for the objects that became his horcruxes and how he founded them! The story of the diadem is also great and heartbreaking! Rowena Ravenclaw made it and enchanted it to make its wearer incredibly smart and witty! Helena, her daughter stole it wising to destroy it. Rowena was at her deathbed when she sent someone to find her daughter but this man killed Helena and they never met each other… 43:30 This isn’t normal fire! This is called Fiendfyre, very advanced dark magic that’s why he couldn’t stop it or control it! It’s the same thing Voldemort used at his fight with Dumbledore. Fiendfyre was magically enhanced fire with dark magic, you couldn’t just put it away with water! It took the shapes and forms of animals consuming everything in its path! Beside the Basilisk venom was the only thing that it could destroy a Horcrux! 58:05 We don’t know what form Snape’s patronus had but because he loved Lily so much it changed into a doe to much his love for her! Something we learnt from the books: Snape was a loyal Death-Eater but after hearing the Trelawney’s prophecy about Harry he went to Voldemort and told his *half of the prophecy* that he heard! Voldemort turns against the Potters and decided to kill them. Snape saw that as a chance for James and Harry to get out the way and he could be with Lily! But Voldemort wanted to kill all of them… So, Snape told everything to Dumbledore and asked him to protect Lily and even James! 1:01:15 The Stone was from the Voldemort mother’s Ring! Voldemort family, the Gaunts were direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin and the second brother of the story! The resurrection stone was on their family ring! Now, something that confuses a lot of people! It’s not the stone that saved Harry!!! The stone cannot protect you from being killed neither resurrects your body! The stone can bring back like the spirit of your beloved one so you can see it and talk with it but it cannot bring actual life to that dead person!!! The reason that Harry was saved was because the protection of Lily’s sacrifice for him and Voldemort’s spell actually killed the part of his soul inside Harry! 1:08:07 Narcissa never became a Death-Eater! Even though she was from the pureblood family of the Blacks, she was married to Lucius… etc she *never* adopted theirs ideas! She was placed in that position by Lucius and her sister Bellatrix which were two important Death-Eaters. Narcissa never cared about them only for Draco! When she learn that Draco is alive (Harry saved him) she lied to Voldemort also showing how capable witch she was! It wasn’t able to everyone to lie to Voldemort! Very few gifted wizards knew how to block their minds from invading them! 1:12:27 Narcissa just took Draco and left! She didn’t have a s**y for Voldemort and Lucius and Bellatrix… 1:18:14 Dumbledore also planned that! He let Draco to disarmed him before Snape killed him. Killing isn’t the only way to win a wizard! Taking his wand and let him unarmed is like a win at a wizard’s duel! The wand was Draco’s after that night until Harry won Draco and took his wand at his house! That’s why even killing Snape the wand didn’t obey to Voldemort! Also, in the books Harry *NEVER* broke the Elder wand! Harry tried to repair his original phoenix-feather wand but he couldn’t. By using the Elder wand he managed to repair his original wand and had it for the rest of his life! Harry placed the Elder wand into Dumbledore’s grave. No one knew that this was the Elder wand and it could be hiding from any possible seeker because no one knew that Dumbledore had it! Also, Harry dropped the somewhere in the Dark Forest, never to be found again. He only kept the invincibility cloak as an heirloom of his bloodline because the Potters were the descendants of the third brother of the story!!! 1:20:50 Harry and Ginny had three children: James Sirius Potter Albus Severus Potter Lily Luna Potter And his son Albus Severus was placed in Slytherin!

I think that's why the explanations have been confusing because people have taken it as either strictly physical rules or strictly spiritual and I think it's a combo of both. The elder wand IS physical wand and the most powerful wand. But I can see that if you best it's owner but don't necessarily have the literal elder wand in you hand that power still follows you (assuming you have a well earned wand in your hand vs a stolen one for instance).

I understand that the movie didn't want to confuse viewers with not only a massive surprise information dump as well as left wondering if Snape was on "the good" side or not, but they really smoothed out the edges on Snape. He didn't secretly care about Harry, he cared about protecting Lily's son. He despised Harry and thought he was everything Severus hated about James. He was a mean, bitter and vindictive man who held up his promise to Dumbledore to do "Anything" he asked if he hid Lily (not her husband and child) from Voldemort. By conventional storytelling Snape is a good guy and hero but, he's not someone anyone should be trying to be.

"Hello Minister!" Percy bellowed, sending a neat jinx at Thicknesse, who dropped his wand and started clawing at the front of his robe in horrible discomfort. "Did I already tell you that I'll quit?" "You're joking Percy!" Fred yelled, as the Death Eater he'd been fighting crumbled under three separate Stunning Spells. Thicknesse had fallen to the ground and small spikes were sprouting out of him; it seemed he was transforming into some kind of sea urchin. Fred looked at Percy, elated "You really are *joking* Percy... I don't think I've heard you do that since -" The air exploded. They'd all been in one group, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and Percy, the two defeated Death Eaters at their feet, one of whom had been stunned and the other transformed. And in that fragment of a moment, when the danger seemed far away, the world was torn apart. Harry felt himself flying through the air, and there was nothing he could do except hold on tightly to the thin wooden stick that was his only weapon, and shield his head with his arms; He could hear the yells and screams of his companions, but he had no way of knowing what was happening to them - And then the world condensed into pain and dimness: he'd ended up buried under the ruined hallway, that had been the target of the horrifying attack: The coldness revealed that the wall had exploded, and the warm stickiness on his cheek meant he was bleeding badly Then he heard it, an eerie yell that tore at his insides and expressed pain the likes of which neither flames nor jinxes could cause. And he stood up, swaying, more afraid he'd been that whole day, perhaps even more than he'd been ever before... And Hermione was making her way up from the rubble, and three red-haired men were on the ground, at the spot where the wall had exploded apart. Harry took Hermione's hand, as they stumbled and slipped on stone and wood. "No - no - no!" somebody was yelling. "No! Fred! No!" And Percy was shaking his brother, and Ron was next to them, on his knees. And Fred's eyes stared ahead without seeing, the ghost of his last laugh forever etched on his face (Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows, chapter 31)

In short, Albus had a great fight with his brother because Albus wanted to seek power with another man and therefore abandon his sick sister at home Their sister tried to stop them from fighting but died as a result. Albus was 17 by that time. After that Dumbledore knew he cannot pursue power and became the great wizard everyone knows. Only his brother, still pissed of him due to the death of their sister. This was also Albus's greatest regret in his whole life. The author once said, What Dumbledore sees in the Mirror of Erised is very similar to Harry. Snape’s skill of Occlumency (Closing his mind against Legilimency) is what allowed him to maintain his “double agent ” facade throughout the story. Voldemort was never able to get into Snape’s mind to see if he was ever betraying him. If you remember in Order of Phoenix Snape was giving Harry lessons on it so as to not let Voldemort get in his mind. In Half Blood, when Harry calls Snape a “Coward” in the books Snape actually yells at Harry and says “DONT CALL ME A COWARD” because he risked his life everyday being a double agent. So when Harry tells Albus that he’s named after 2 Hogwarts headmasters and 1 of them was the “bravest man” he’d ever known it’s because indeed Serverus Snape was brave. Oh and Albus Potter ends up getting sorted into Slytherin the very house he didn’t want to be in. But he adapts eventually.

The only reason he protected Harry was because Dumbledore made it clear that Harry is the last thing left of Lily and that got to Snape. Snape is not a good person at all. Infact he would still be a loyal deatheater, if Voldemort killed everyone but Lily in that fateful night.

When he was younger, Dumbledore was obsessed with the Deathly Hallows. But though he eventually found all three, he never had them all at the same time. And after his sister's death (which he may or may not have caused) he no longer felt worthy of having them. So he tried to arrange for Harry to get them, as a backup plan for defeating Voldemort. But it failed - Harry never had all three at the same time either.

@@7thlittleleopard7 wouldnt that mean all Hogwarts students are masters of death though because they would be in same area of all deathly hallows as well in the 6th book.

@@denizkenger52 No. Harry owned the cloak and the wand and the stone. They were legitimate claims he had on each of them - the cloak was a family heirloom, passed down through generations. The wand was fairly won as per its requirements. He was gifted the stone from Dumbledore, but also was the last to use it. With all three existing as his at once, that would make him the master of death even if they weren't on-hand at the same time.
@denizkenger52 Жыл бұрын
@@7thlittleleopard7 No it wouldnt. the quote doesnt say he must have owned all 3 at one stage of his life. or be close to them It literally says "Those of us who understand these matters, however, recognize that the ancient story refers to three objects, or Hallows, which, if united, will make the possessor master of Death.” They wouldn't be united if they're not in possessed by whoever the master of death would be at the same time. If they're elsewhere then they wouldn't be united. If they weren't on him then he doesn't possess them. You're saying area matters, well then Hogwarts students being in the same area should make them the masters of death as well. It really doesn't matter tbh if u accept the student example, I gave the example to prove you wrong but the quote proves u wrong anyway.

@@denizkenger52 Possession - an item owned by someone else. Possessor - someone who owns specific items. He owned all three - one passed down through his family. One gifted to him as a last bequest. One won fairly by the laws of said item. He possessed each of them - they were _his_ to own and have. No-one else had ownership (possession) of them at the same time, bar him. He dropped the stone on the forest floor but his was the last hand through which it passed and who used it. It was his possession, gifted by Dumbledore through his Last Will and Testament. The wand was in another's hand, but it was still his and recognised him as its owner, not the one holding it at the time. From the time he took Draco's wand, it was his possession, owned by him. The cloak was his by birthrite. I don't think we need to examine why it was his. The act of possessing all three at the same time (which he did for a fair while - from the time he took Draco's wand, onwards) is what united them - something no-one else had managed to do - and thus, made him Master of Death. Each was his, owned by him. Just because they weren't in his literal hands at the same time doesn't mean he didn't possess them. The proof of this - that he retained possession of the items even when they weren't physically with him - is in the fact that the wand was his no matter whose hand it was in. It would only work for him correctly - else there would have been no reason for Voldemort to kill Snape and try to win its ownership that way. It doesn't matter that Harry dropped the rock - it was owned by him from the moment of Dumbledore's death (as it was written in his Will and that moment is when it became Harry's). In fact, the moment Harry became the Master of Death was when he took Draco's wand. At that moment he already had the stone and the cloak - by taking Draco's wand he also won the Wand. He thus possessed all three at that moment.

Funny how the powers of a mother's love saved Harry a second time. First his own mother. But then Draco's mother lied to Volamort when she said that Harry's dead, she spared him when she asks him if Draco was alive. Harry lightly nods just enough for her to know he was alive. So, the powers of a mother's love saved him again.
@rafaelmatos5851 Жыл бұрын
Dumbledore's story is a sad one indeed... First, his father is arrested for attacking three Muggles that harassed Ariana for using magic, causing her to lose control over it (with him dying there). After that, his mother also died after Ariana lost control over her magic right after Albus finished school, forcing him to take care of his sister. Then, he met Gellert Grindelwald (Voldemort's predecessor as the most powerful dark wizard), with the two becoming friends (and much more) and making plans for "the greater good", only for the story to end up in tragedy when Ariana was killed by a stray spell while she was trying to stop a three-way fight between Albus, Aberforth and Grindelwald. This moment caused the two brothers to become estranged with one another and Albus and Grindelwald becoming enemies. That moment also changed Albus tremendously and was what led him to become the man he later turned into, a man that sought to never put himself in any position of power, for much deserving it was... a man dedicated to educate the next generation of wizards and witches and to turn the magical world into a better place. But the regret never abandoned him...

Another fact, in the movie everyone flies, but in the books the only one who knew how to fly without a wand was Voldemort, and Snape learned from him.

Snape It's one of the most amazing characters without a doubt! But the movies have greatly alleviated his story. For he was the one who told Voldemort about the prophecy and knew he was going to go after Harry. Then Snape asks the Dark Lord to spare Lilly's life and only upon learning of the risk of her death does he go after Dumbledore.

"GAME OF THRONES " FRANCHISE YOU SHOULD NEVER FORGET
@GabrielMRTheAnthologyOfLore Жыл бұрын
Some things that have not been explained: The death stone has on Voldemort's ring that Dumbledore achieved, he was searching years for the stone and he feels so guilty by the death of his sister years ago, that he forget the dangers when he was seen the stone, that he put the Voldemort's horcrox on his finger, to be mortally cursed. The ring itself is a heirloom of Voldemort's Family, the ring of the gaunt family, derived from one the death hallows creators, Voldemort never found out that he has the death's stone. On the books, Harry doesn't brake the elder wand, he uses the power of the wand to repair his old wand of Phoenix Feather, and then he puts back the elder wand on Dumbledore's tomb, in the hope that when he dies of old age, the elder wand power and blood traces dies out it him so no one will be the elder wand owner. David Yates is a bad movie director in my opinion, because he cut out almost all the particular lessons that Dumbledore has with Harry on the film 6, where he shows a lot of memories and Voldemort's story, and he speaks about what he thinks that are the horcruxes, he cut these scenes to put more romantic comedy... on his own words are said, not mine.

I got a bit of Trivia info for you... Professor Flitwick head of Ravenclaw house and Charms professor may be a little person but think of him as Yoda from star wars, before he was a professor at Hogwarts he was a championship award winning Duelist.... ALSO, Professor Minerva McGonagall is a VERY good duelist as well, they cut the battle scenes out of the halfblood prince where she fought off like 10 death eaters at once, Hagrid got hit many times by spells, but they don't affect him as much due to him being half Gaint, Firenze the Centaur even helps suring the battle, then helps Trelawny with her Divinations class, Plus it's also the Battle where Bill Weasley got the scars on his face by the Werewolf that turned Remus Lupin when he was only 5 years old Fenrir Greyback, the only reason Bill didn't turn into a werewolf is because it wasn't a full moon & Greyback wasn't transformed, he permanently has claws.. Also, Mrs Weasley didn't like Fleur being engaged to Bill very much, but after she saw how much Fleur loved Bill and the scars didn't bother her, Mrs. Weasley took a liking to her, plus with Fleur being part Veela, she only has one mate and bill is that mate, they met when she started working at Gringotts bank, where Bill was working after he transferred from Egypt's Gringotts branch.

So just like to clear this up since the movies kind of skim it but Snape always hated Harry. He only protected Harry for Lily's sake. In the books during the memories scene after Dumbledore says "Don't tell me now you've grown to care for the boy" Snape's first reply is "FOR HIM?!" the he casts his Patronus. So Lily's Patronus was also a doe and in the wizarding world when you love someone enough your Patronus can become the same as the one you love.
