South Africa has build there own budget electric. And this is all we know about it

As we all know the world is going electric. But not all countries are ready yet. Electric cars are expensive and in countries where the the average income is low and cost of living is quite high its difficult to justify paying a lot of money for a car, especially if the country isn’t ready for that type of car. What do I mean? Many countries by now have a decent electric infrastructure. If you buy an electric vehicle there should be quite a few charge stations for you to use. Yes long road trips will be a challenge but it should be possible. But countries like South Africa where electricity is a problem Electric cars seems like something for the distant future. But is it?

It's our high import taxes that make it so expensive. For the same price, you could get a proper 350km + electric car like a Suzuki or Tata made in India. This little citybug thing shouldn't even be close to R100k.

Even costs more than the current cheapest Tesla if you compare the price of the car to the range. And Tesla is way safer, cooler, advanced etc. Not to mention which bank will give you finance for this cart. The Chinese are taking chances, Elon better open up a dealership in SA soon.
